Hi all, Im trying to get some more oil for my FD but all i can seem to find is full and semi synthetic.  Does anyone one know where I can get some mineral oil (kidderminster, Worcs).

Also which is good to use - the car is completly standard and I dont wrag it but I dont really want to go for the Halfrauds home brew stuff (which just says for old engines, nothing about turboed or injection engines    )

Cheers, Ricco.

Cheers chaps, guess I was being short sighted again.  Some ones really dont seem to have it on so I asked them the once and they where trying to convince me to put some semi in!! (which I did (bout 4months ago)- could this do anything bad??)

Will get my eyes checked and go get some more! but thanks again :)

If you can\'t find that go to your local Mazda garage and buy 5 litres of the mineral oil they recommend for Renesys engines and before, £29.99 IIRC.

As Si says you can pick up mineral oil from Halfords quite a decent price too.

Dont do what my mrs did and put the same oil in a normal car like????:rollin

What\'s the benefits of using these specialist oils??

Anyone??

I have a range of Royal Purple fully synthetic oils in stock, its the only fully synthetic I believe tha is recommended for rotarys. In 2 weeks time I have the first batch of 5 ltr cans coming in as until now it was qtrs or 1ltrs.

What\'s gonna happen when I add that to my mineral based engine? (Sorry if that\'s a dumb question)!

Possibly bad things according to some... the mineral oil builds up seals on this that and the other over time. If you change to synth it -can- dissolve those seals. More important if you have piston rings of course.

I\'d ask a different question - if it\'s happy on mineral oil and always has been, why spend extra money and introduce risk by changing to synth?

Quite right! I guess if it ain\'t broke;)

(well it is but it\'s being fixed)!:rollin
