Managed to get the new bit fitted after snapping the plastic bit off the intake pipe, but now the car doesnt start. Its just constantly turns over and there\'s no kick to get it into life.

Checked all the pipes and they are fine. Cud it be flooded?  If so how do i fix it. Or what else cud it be?

Thanks

If its flooded, take out the EGI fuse (in the engine bay passenger side) and the bottom spark plugs. Give it a crank for a couple of seconds. Wait for the fuel vapour to go and refit everything. Then try starting it again.
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

Whip out the plugs and see if they are wet.

Also, are you getting any smoke etc out of the exhaust?

If you have been messing with those intercooler hoses then make sure they are tight. If anything to do with the intercooler is loose or off then it will be extremely hard to start if at all.

Did you unlug anything? - like the AFM connector maybe  - that would do it.

I\'d check the other\'s first - if it\'s not even trying to fire - that sounds electrical / fuel related.  Even a big vacuum leak would still try and start.

It did try to start at first. Would do it and the just die immediately. I\'ll try and have a look again this afternoon. Not unplugged anything else though

Ok tried it after taking the egi out and still nothing. Just keeps on cranking over. Sometimes get a funny whirring noise like something is still going round after i stop cranking. Seriously need this sorting but just cracking on with other jobs in the mean time

Prof

Does sound like a leccy problem of some sort.  Whirring noise could be the starter motor - if it disengages and is still turning.

How\'s the battery voltage ?  Might be trying to fire but not enough juice now - particularly if you\'ve been trying several times.

You could check fuel pump by shorting the yellow jumper near the drivers shock and switching the ignition key round to Ignition (but not cranking it) - you should easily hear the fuel pump on full.

If you\'re getting fuel - and it\'s cranking and catching - then it could be a problem with the ECU / CAS sensor / Fouled plugs

Battery voltage is fine, even tried it hooked up to the vectra so had plenty of power

I can turn of the engine and the starter motor is still going, odd!

1 thing, is the BOV correct for your car? I tried to fit a Baileys DV24 to my car, which was open on idle, meaning that the car wouldn\'t start as there was a MASSIVE air leak of the metered air :rollin

NeilSR

Ive put everything back to standard, so the std recirc is back on as it was before i broke the pipe and ....ed everything up! lol

I need someone in the local area who knows their fc\'s/fd\'s lol

NeilSR

Looks like it vould be the spark plugs, got some on order which I can hopefully try tomorrow or wed to see if i can get it started!
