I went to my local car parts place to get battery cable (as im relocating the battery in the boot) and some gasket paper.

They don\'t stock it anymore. And neither do the other three shops i tried, these things used to be common place years ago..

Anyone any ideas where i can source these basic (should be on the shelf! :reallymad ) products?

battery cable ... http://www.premierwiring.co.uk/

not sure for gasket paper ... whats it for ? I must have to admit to having made gaskets for non critical parts out of cereal boxes :o

Any lucas place should do cabling, think even halfrauds might. Gasket paper i\'d try the motorfactors that look like they\'ve been there forever or a agricultural suppliers

Cheers guys, the local Lucas place shut down about 6 months ago.

I too am guilty of the cereal box gaskets in the past!

Im going non sequential so need to make blanking plates, i have a sheet of 1/8 Aluminium alloy to make plates, just need gasket paper.

Thats what i thought, but ive tried all the local motor factors, it seems nobody stocks it anymore..

I will give halfrauds a phone..

Halfrauds only do amp cable and they dont have gasket paper either...

If you don\'t mind black or blue I have a goodly stash of 16mm2 (and 35mm2 and 50mm2, but that\'s a little extreme :-)

Thanks Bill, but i think i will leave Blackpool to sort out there own iluminations! ;)

IMHO anything less than 16mm2 is pushing your luck with a remote battery connection.

I was refering to the 35 and 50 ;)

I have managed to sort out some 16mm2 cable. (:o  should have spoke to the electrician at work first!).

Thanks for the offer anyway Bill.
