Has the list of running/SORN cars been updated to take into account the fact that I have both C970 DKP and A475 NEG?

Im sorry to add that A475 NEG will soon be no longer with us, as it will be heading the the great rotor heaven that some of us call NZ. She was bought to order for my brother in law who was looking for an unmolested original which are pretty scarce in those parts...

David Nock (RIP)

Ah....Good, thanks for that, I had no idea where NEG had gone. I tried to find out but couldn\'t. Pity it\'s going but I\'m sure it\'ll be happy there :WaveBye .......Let me know when it\'s on the Boat would you so I can move it to the \'exported overseas\' section. (Ireland, CI, IoM etc I class as British Isles which is what my Register is based on).

You know the other one, don\'t you mean C969 not C970?

Ah yes, I do - oops. There is another on here with that reg - brothers I guess!

Mine was registered 30/10/85 and I think the other one was a week or so later? Also \'Tender Blue\' as well?

I know there are not a whole lot left on the roads now, but what were the UK sales figures from new? How many have been lost and how many are we losing each year? That would be very interesting to find out.

David Nock (RIP)

There were a band of brothers together....C966, C967, C968, C969, C970...... According to DVLA all were registered together on the same day. All were Blue.
We worked out on here that the \'KP\' in the Reg, being Maidstone District in Kent would have been probably issued to the Mazda Company themselves, \'cos they were close by.

Sadly only the last 2 cars seem to be still around.

I\'ve always thought that total UK sales of the 1st Gen were around the 7000 mark.
It may be that there\'s another load out there in garages and barns.....So at a very wild guess 300 total still left. We know of 200 or so complete cars - and the wastage rate from that is perhaps 10/15 a year.....In fact I\'ve another 2 to shift to scrappers in the next week or 2  I think.....kiwi-mick\'s Silver S3 and a Blue S2 in Bolton for which I\'ve never had the Reg, but I\'m sure now is gone.

Interesting - 5 registered on the same day and in the same colour? It must have been some kind of publicity stunt? The \'C\' mark was available from 1st september so it cannot have been a reg thing.

The selling dealer on mine is Gatwick Mazda which was only 10 miles from my house now.

No mention of Kent in the books (I got them with the car) from what I remember although I will check.

I wonder how many will be left in 2020??

Can you send me the list? I would love to see it - how many there are based on Reg - there cannot be too many C\'s left can there? How did you get a K? ramon@paxton.co.uk

No, it seems to be common to find \'clusters\' of Mazda cars on the Maidstone District Registration letters.....So there\'s clusters of \'CKL\'s registered together, and I broke a \'KKW\' which is next to a couple of others. Also the 5 or 6 early Press launch Series 1 cars all seemed to be \'FKJ\'s. It\'s the \'KP\', KL\', \'KW\', \'KJ\' suffixes which say Maidstone Office/Mazda\'s own Car in the 1980\'s.

2020??? A few will still be going, mine for one, done 53,000 and theres others with lower miles.

The location list has been sent by email.....There are no Reg Nos on there though but I can confirm 17 \'C\'s roadgoing, 29 on SORN. Then there are a couple of \'D\'s which are roadgoing plus my \'K\'. That came about because a London Dealer took the car from the boat in Spring 1986 but didn\'t register it. It was finally registered in Dec 1992 because of the Cat Laws coming in (would have stopped it going on road after 1993) and we bought it from him in 1993.

I\'m trying to stay on the right side of the privacy laws with the information I put outwards from my Register. Therefore whilst I might wheedle and cajole registration numbers out of people by PM or ebay message, if it\'s not already been posted for example on ebay or on here, then I don\'t think I have the right to put it back out into circulation, same with the exact location, I only give that by a general geographic area.
Trouble is the Registrations are essential to make sure tracking of cars and their actual numbers (quantity) is accurate.
I hope you can see why I do this. I know a complete listing of all known cars with their numbers would be very interesting indeed but I don\'t want to risk a load of complaints.

Cheers Dave

I\'ve got to say David, that I wouldn\'t have any objection to my registration being published on this list. I wouldn\'t want my name, address , location or anything to identify me or the cars exact location but if it said \' C707 ULW Red, Staffordshire\', that wouldn\'t worry me at all and would make your database very interesting reading. I wonder how many people would look at it and recognise a registration from years ago, owned by themselves or someone they knew.
I can totally appreciate your caution though, some people love to moan about anything, even when there\'s nothing to moan about!

Yeh, It\'s a problem I\'d love to solve by just publishing the Reg Nos....

But, suppose someone who I realised had bought a particular car, wanted to  blank the Reg on Photo\'s.(Plenty similar to that on the list).

Then I go and put it up on here. He googles or something and finds it, whats he going to say? "Take it of that list fella"? Once on the net it\'s irreversible; I can\'t retract it.

Plus these search engine bots or whatever they are find anything.

I\'ve put my own car up several times recently with it\'s Reg showing \'cos I can\'t very well ask for info one way only.

I\'ve concluded that if anyone asks about a particular car and it\'s scrapped or probably scrapped I can say so (because as you know Ian, it\'s more or less clear from DVLA public access about that info). If on the other hand it still lived somewhere then I would say so and then take steps, if I could,  to get the owners consent to say roughly where it was and who had it.

As said previously, If a car\'s been in print on here or ebay recently then that\'s public info anyway.

I love this whole business of car histories/ Reg numbers to trace \'em and so on, but not everyone feels the same.

I got the list - I wasnt really after the reg numbers, more the letters as a matter of interest, however as it is, it is very interesting reading! Nice to know there are some cars local to me, although none in West Sussex which makes me feel a bit special..

Yes, not as nicely presented this time.....  a bit of rot showing up now too.
Still a nice car, especially for a series 2  but 2 grand??
I\'d rather go another 500 quid and buy the silver one in Aberdeen.
Now that is a really nice car...

100% agree Ian. The Silver Aberdeen car must be in the top 2 presently for sale....(can\'t forget Dave C\'s Opal Green one).
But back to Aberdeen......if the car is what it seems to be it\'s a bargain. It has to be worth £3000 if it is a minter.

Look at the posting time guys.....Haven\'t been up this early for 5 years.
Our new lovely straggie cat is off to the vets for his nicknacks off and he can\'t have his breakkie. He\'s shut in and mad and VERY hungry.
He will be giving it some tonk with the meows later on today.
