Just replaced the exhaust on the FC (what an absolute ballache getting the downpipe off!) and literally spending the entire day just changing the exhaust I\'m left with 1 question afterwards:

What should I do with the split air pipe? Obviously the new exhaust doesn\'t have an inlet for it. Do I just leave it pointing at the floor or should I block it off?

Does it come from the air pump? I still have the air pump attached (will be taken off as soon as the alternator belt problem is sorted)...

Thanks!

Prof

It just carries air from the air pump/air control valve during certain rev ranges.

It can be left venting with no ill effect if you\'ve decatted - as it\'s sole purpose was to provide an air feed for the cats.

I\'ve got dthebuk\'s old exhaust - simple 2.5" system all the way back, straight all the way to the 2 rear box\'s, do I need more back pressure, or should it be fine? Car feels torquier with the exhaust, but not had it boosting yet.

Thanks btw dude!

dthebuk

doubt you\'d need more back pressure as the exhaust doesn\'t flow so much that the wastegate needs porting.

So did you keep your two rear cans?

Couldn\'t get my ones off in the end, so I\'ve kept yours. Not overly loud, but not too bad. Little bit boomy. Will find out properly today.

dthebuk

boomyness is probs due to the lack of mid box.
got anything sorted for running the extra boost yet?

Strikes me as the perfect first exhaust for someone who\'s done nothing else! She doesn\'t overboost, but pulls much harder than before, although you\'ll testify that she wasn\'t going well anyway!

Much more fun now, although I can\'t wait to sort out the misfire and getting her running smoother.

Unfortunately though I\'ve lost the wire going TO the lambda sensor - it was in there, I forgot to connect it up, went for a small drive and it\'d disappeared! Anyone know where in the engine bay it comes FROM so that I can hunt around to find or, if if it\'s truly gone, put another wire in place?

Thanks!
