HELP!!!

I\'ve just got my split rims back..refurbed and looking very sexy!!However the problem i have is that they are a high polish finish,un protected metal and i need to look after them...polish them with silvo twice a week to keep the high shiny finish...

..my question is about the brakes. They are due to be replaced and i need some pads with minimal brake dust...any opinions???I had looked at black diamond pads, but im unsure of the amount of dust they create.....

I\'ll post pictures of my wheels later....once ive worked out how to resize them :-(

Advoid the Hawk pads in that case. They dust like you wouldnt want. :(

Cant think of any that are any good that dont dust. Think its just a fact of life.

...not sure what pads i currently have on the car, all i know is that the second the dust touched the polished rim it binds, and tarnishes the finish....managed to wax them to prevent any lastin damage but the pads need replaced...ASAP!!!

What wax are you using? You need to try some kind of hard wax, like symoniz (sp?), zymol, etc.

These are hard waxes that need to melt in the hand and applied. Then leave for 10 minutes and buff off.

Can\'t find a clear coat that will keep the polished finish then?

Don\'t know what you can do, but polishing them twice a week is going to get very old, very quickly.

I\'ve tried this wheel wax on my daily drive alloys, seems to help reduce the build up of brake dust and makes the wheels easier to clean:

EBC Greenstuff pads is the answer, very very very small amounts of brake dust. I think they are not liked much on this forum but I\'ve had them on over a year now and never had any stopping/performance problems from them.Give em a try....cheers Leigh.

I would NOT recommend using EBC pads in an FD. They just are not up to the work that might be put on them.

They crumble before they work properly.
