Hi i\'m just wondering what are the differences between an ordinary 95 efini rx7 and a type-r one? cheers :Thumbsup!

Ada7

Type  have a sturt brace and twin oil coolers (look throught both sides of the front bumper)
Simple way to check what model you have is to look at the sticker in the drivers door shut

As Adam said twin oil coolers is the biggest give awaw, didn\'t type r\'s only come with cloth seats???

Macca-RX7

Thats what i thought, but thought id ask if there are anymore? What about suspension?

Just because when i bought the car it wasn\'t labelled as a type-r, it doesnt have the strut brace but it DOES appear to have twin oil coolers
The label on the inside of the door looks like someone has tried to remove it and I cant read it anymore :( oh and it does have cloth seats

Timmy

Probably had an aftermaket strut brace and a previous owner kept it or sold it.
Type-r has the normal suspension so not the soft or blistein.
Most rx\'s are type-r\'s you better of looking for things that would make it not a type-r.

Macca-RX7

Why an after-market strut brace?
It definitely has twin oil coolers anyway just double checked there, so am i to assume its a type r then?

Timmy

because standard one isn\'t worth anything.

Think fogs were an option . I\'ve had a Type-R that had them and one that didn\'t

#9
Just cause ive got the switch for them next to the heated rear window but the fog lights arnt actually on the car?
so i\'ll just take it that its a type-r then due to the twin oil coolers?

DSNorth

Mebby it is possible to add the extra oil cooler to a none Type-R ?

Is this something people might do ?

Just a thought.

I have a 95 type r and the label says suspension: Hard. The Mazda brochure says the suede type seats are made for the type r to stop you slipping about.

Pumba_GT

eMMM.... very good news to me as it has 2 oil coolers and standard strut brace! I got a twin, rocks all day long.

There is a sticker in the drivers door that also tells you what spec it is. Mine is an R2
