Hey all,

I\'m getting my vert back on the road for the summer at the start of April and want to do something about the front number plate... I\'ve been told it flaps around a lot at speed... Which although I can\'t see it probably doesn\'t look that good!

I\'ll post up a pic of the current setup shortly but until the I\'ll try and describe it as best I can - there are two brackets holding the number plate holder affixed through the lower grill and the number plate itself is held on vertically with two plastic bolty things (!) - its the edges that flap around and although I attempted to use some double sided tape to hold them that didn\'t last very long...

So onto my question - whats the best solution to avoid flappy number plate syndrome?! Is there a better option other than taking the number plate off and having it on the passenger side of the dash! :Giggle

1) get a metal strip and place behind numberplate to make it more ridged.
b) sticky numberplate which sticks onto bumper
III) go sq and put below the passenger side indicator
2 doritos on a stick woohoo :rollin

chrisJDM

get a stick on one, much better :Thumbs-up

Option 4, take it off the front of the car and if you see the police chuck it on the dash :)

I hate my front number plate, think i might just remove it an keep it under the seat, if any sow\'s pull me i can say it just fell off!! ;) hmm wonder how long i could get away with it!
Failing that stick on is the way to go :Thumbs-up not sure how legal they are though? i guess as long as it looks like it should it\'ll be ok.

Jord

I ran without one for about 2 years on my S14, I got pulled over once and chucked it on the dash and nothing was said, I explained it had fallen off but I had retrieved it.

NeilSR

Havent ran one since I got it apart from for mot\'s, it spoils the lines of the car, lol

U can see it behind the wipers on the drivers side

option 5, hang it off the passenger sun visor (like in my avatar, though its a letter box size one)

MIne is in the window screen the rear view mirror support holds it nicely ;)
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

I have a sticker that I might put on at some point, but I might do what quite a few jap cars do, run a front number plate, but run it at a slightly angle which will then duct more air into the radiator :) so if its in the OEM position tilt the bottom part of the plate down, if its bolted to the bottom part of the bumper/lip area tilt the top part in :)

As can be seen here:

Also a fan of the the numberplate on the dash, or under the side light.

Its awesome. Driven it a few times. Its sorn\'d at the minute, got through the mot with not trouble. Just waiting for the new bonnet to be painted, rear spacers and stretch on the front. Then its going lower :D

that a new fd you\'ve got there then?
