bought a second hand aluminium ast of unknown make, recieved it today, all looked fine, took the cap off and its very dirty inside, looksl like mud, not that much but im sure its not meant ot be there

cap seems fine and seals well, is there anything i should be worried bout? can i literally just give it a good clean out and it should be ok?

Just sludge from the coolant in the donor car - just clean it out.

Its not unusual for there to be a bit of silty stuff in the coolant if its not been changed for a while - or if they\'ve every user Kalimex or similar leak repair stuff - which might be a worry for the owner of the engine, but not for you.

Plus give it a polish, a polished AST gives an extra 50bhp :D

My old man did that with bits from his motoX bike once-never laughed so much as I did when my mum went to unload it:Giggle
