Guy\'s is there a DIY for this somewhere? Is it easy enough to do with everything in place or do you need to strip the rear of the car out? I have had a look under the old girl and I can\'t say I saw an easy way to do it first off!

Advise please.
Thank you

I\'m waiting till the Diff comes out to swap the poly bushed one in. Doesn\'t look a nice job !

I\'ve attached the Workshop manual page !

Hmm!
Diff comes out or falls out!! LOL!

I am led to believe there is enough movement to let the diff drop just enough to get at the bolts holding the bracket on and not take anything else off?!

Anyone got a spare diff mount they want to give me? If I can get one bushed up ready to swap in I might give it a whirl! I like a challenge!

Cheers

I tried and failed while I was swapping a clutch out. Probably going for a kazz diff this year so will get pip to do the swap.

People have done it at the pod but it\'s an interesting job.

Will the diff drop enough to get at the hanger bolts just by releasing the main the bolts fixing it to the sub-frame and taking off the tail pipe? Or will I need to remove some other bits to get at these?

Cheers

leeroy,
Can be done in a couple of hours, make sure you prop the car under the subframe to allow the wheels / suspension / driveshafts to drop.  Take the back box off too (if i remember).  It\'s a tight squeeze, but you can get the spanners in there.  Its a good opportunity to change the fuel filter as well?

Funny you should mention that! I had to change the fuel filter a couple of months back!! what a cow of a job! So you don\'t need to drop the sub-frame. Just jack the car on it?
Thanks for the info..

Pig of a job! But I did it! A big THANK YOU to Trind-FD for the spare diff bracket. Being able to have something to measure and make the bushes before stripping the car was very helpful!
With that and the new engine mount bushes I made, it drives like a new car.. No play in the front or back and nothing clonking around!
Mildly more vibration transmitted through the car on the PU bushes but that only really notices at low rpm 1500 or when you shut down.

Very Pleasing!
