If its for a weekend car then get one but for every day its to heavy on fuel. You see many people buying a rex, keeping it for a short while then selling it due to the running costs.

i put £40 in on a friday night, drive it 50-70miles over the weeknd and another 30miles on a wed\'s, then following friday its £40 again, repeat repeat repeat

Quote from: jackaleks;677010RX-7 fact number one: they burn fuel and oil. in fact, they burn so much fuel and oil that this forum is the number one reason why the Arab Emirates haven\'t gone bust yet.

RX-7 fact number two: Global Warming never looked or sounded this cool, so who cares!

In the 2.5 years ive owned my fd it has barely used any oil whatsoever so i believe that some do, some dont. Before its said, my omp is working fine and the crappy halfords mineral is changed every 2-3k and rarely strays from the full marker if at all.Even when it was bone standard it used next to none equally now pip mapped with bolt-ons it still uses very very little oil over the 3k intervals. Vpower on the other hand is a different matter lol

22mpg on a run, 12-16 mpg usually though on weekend blasts waking the northumbrian countryside:evillaugh

on a run I\'m getting about 23ish, don\'t realy calculate it any more as my wallet sh!ts itself! and on a sprited drive you can vertualy watch the needle drop as you go through the gears! and that is on a moderatly tuned 330ish bhp!

I had a lancia delta integrale before my FD and compared to the FD that was like running a fiesta diesel. Rotaries and decent mpg just dont mix.

Just buy it and enjoy it. The only time you need to worry about fuel consmption is when you\'ve filled it up and you realise you can bury your right foot into the carpet again :D

With all your fat mates in the car you\'ll be lucky to get 10mpg ;)

reason number 9 why I love the Rex is I have similar fuel consumption to a Murcialago for a fraction of the price!!! Bargain!

not really watched it on the fd, but cruising its pretty good.

ive also had 30 mpg out of the fc before now.

ive found that driving off boost produces better fuel economy than the n/a rotaries

I have managed I think 31mpg on the motorway, 8 around town, 2 on boost :D lol

Cruise control works on mine for fuel economy as it doesn\'t spool the turbo as much, as soon as I put my foot anywhere near the throttle I get instant spool on the turbo, the cruise control seems to be as if I had a feather foot lol rarely goes on boost :)

not sure on mpg but on 3/4 worth of a tank (fc tank) i get about 200 miles combines. think worked out about 30p a mile on fuel i think. prob the best 30p you can spend :)
2 doritos on a stick woohoo :rollin

I actually think the fuel consumption is good given the power, I got 24mpg driving from london to edinburgh sitting at 75.

Doesn\'t use much oil either.

erm, surely that\'s one fat-ish mate in the passenger seat, and two 1/2 mates in the rear??

I\'ll do 24-26mpg on a run from Hull to Edinburgh at average of 70mph. However, rush-hour traffic on way to work will see that down to single figures!!
Work hard, play hard house :D

:)

he reckons he\'s going to fit 3 mates in there ;)

if you want to increase your mpg and also reduce your carbon footprint you could put energy saving lamps in the headlights?

i get around 22mpg when driving on the motorway, but around town it is down to 12, recently i managed to achieve 98 miles from 50 litres of fuel, which is really poor as i normally get around 150!

however these miles are probably the best miles any car  owner could enjoy, as stated by a few other people earlier.

The way I see it is this; you can spend £60 on a night out, get drunk and have nothing to show for it except a bad head the next day.

Or you can fill up your Rex, and enjoy it for at least a couple of days, without the nasty hangover. I know which I prefer!
