check your alt is charging had the same thing a week or so ago .. brought up all the warning lights.
there may be other reasons for this but thats exactly what happened to mine. as soon as belt was replaced it cleared.... untill it chewed the new belt due to worn bearings....

Cheers Mick, Spot on Alt belt all chewed up, funny because the last time I used it I smelt burning but could not figure it out............now I know.

check your bearings mine worked fine till it had been running a while and then started to seize up.
spin it with no belt on shouldn\'t hear a noise
am about to replace my bearings, will pm you with bearing sizes tomorrow if i get chance to pull it apart.
looking forward to cleaning it up too you should see the rubber mess under my bonnect where it chewed up the last belt. hope it gets milder soon need to spend some quality hours on my baby.

Just to tag something else onto this thread, which wasn\'t the problem but which gives similar symptoms.
There is a relay in a metal can mounted on the nearside wing, near the bulkhead.
It\'s proper name is \'Choke and Check Relay\' and the alternator pulls it in to extinguish all the warning lights. The relay contacts can be dirty and allow the lights to come up even when the alternator is OK.
The metal top can be opened and the contacts cleaned up, though it\'s a bit fiddly.

Sadly Missed

The most common cause of the burning fanbelt is the viscous coupling on the fan going bad.
I had loads of grief with mine last year. ( my misery was detailed in my blog)

Chuck em in the bin and get an electric fan, the kenlow fan on mine works a treat.

strange this has happened to yours as it\'s genuine low mileage, bet mines next, must be an age thing.
ta stu..

Stu, I think with mine its because it was left standing so long, and now I\'ve done a few miles in it (250) things are starting to come to light.

You\'re probably right Dibs, I had the same thing where mine had been sat for a while-various electrical items randomly packing up and things letting go where they were a  bit were brittle from lack of use. Twas a nightmare it was like you\'d run a sweepstake to bet which part of my car would jump ship next:WaveBye

All good fun:D
