It appears i have developed a drip on the turbo side near the sump/oil blanking plate from the twins. i thought it was the sump but. the oil trickles higher up, but not so high that it could be from the omp lines. It looks like its from in between the bell housing/ g box and rear plate, jsut on the turbo side. The only other thing i can think of is that teh sump is leaking and somehow travelling upwards.

I have tightened the sump the blank plate and checked the turbo. it doesnt seem to be them.

any idea>?

cheers

omp lines run up the front of the engine as far as i know.

DR SCHNITZEL

yeah they do. but i thought the oil might be coming from the top where they are injected into the housings but no oil there. hmmphh track day tomorrow

the only thing that high up is the OMP nozzles, i think?

you do get oil working its way back through the vacuum nipples connected to the nozzles, how have you routed them? i\'m guessing if you\'re on single you\'ve t\'d them off against the UIM somewhere.

DR SCHNITZEL

the nipples have nothing attached to them. they just vent to air and dont leak. i read that peopl vac source them but you dont need to. is that right?

another possibility could be that your turbo is blowing oil and its seeping through the inlet to engine gasket

Hi All

I think iam having the same problem over here

went for a drive and i saw the drivers - UK passenger side - side engine with oil on it, to the top base to the engine mount. A few questions made and i tought it was the oil filler neck - o ring that was damage.

I took the inlet elbow off and it was jut fine, oil not coming from oil filer neck, them i tought it was the oil pressure sender unit as picture shows, but oil start again to show on the floor.

Yesterday i was at shop and went for a hard ride ( after egine warms up, etc...) and saw again a little wave of with smoke caming from inside engine and them again oil on the floor.

The engine was wash up with high pressure water and clean, it look like new.
My mechanic told me it was the oil filter that was not bolt corrcetly and need a little more on it.

I was glad when he said that, no big deal

Today i took the car to the high way to see if it really solved the problem, but the white smoke came out of the engine again and saw again oil on the floor in mean while white smoke came on the rear LH wheel as oil went through the body - I guess, and it was burning somewhere

I open the hood and saw oil again in LH engine side caming from the top to the base and saw oil on the alternator and on the intake elbow and in the strut bar.

I nottest this when i push the car hard and second turbo came in, otherwhise the engine is dry or clean,it means high pressure and revs

I took again the intake elbow and found a IC lower hose wrecked, took a look inside and it was clean, so my twins must be functional at least till now.

Someone told me it can be the oil metering lines or the banjo oil lines and what is that pipe in the intermadiate rotor house for?

take a look on the pictures and need your opinions please.

Thank you

Filipe

Another possibility is the oil pressure sender unit, leaks under pressure but never went you want it to when looking for it :Grrr Apparantly it was leaking out through the centre where the wire fits in.

DR SCHNITZEL

Hey Fillipe, id take teh top of your engine off and have a good look under your 4 bananas, most prob oil filler neck, oil filter or pressure sender.

i have slight leak from my oil filler neck.

my leak looks like its the sump near driver side engine mount. it is just the oil starts higer up but not near the injector rails, im going to drop teh subframe at teh weekend and redo the sump seals,

whats the best goo to use?
