Nothing to worry about mate sounds like it\'s only flooded.
Therer is a de-flood procedure on this forum somewhere or there is one on my site I think under rx7 info page.

my car is a 1995 fd with about 50000 miles on the clock re the flooding idea ill try it but it actually sounds different cant explain but as the car turns over and i stop it sort of clunks not loud just slight and as it turns over its just a wizzing noise it all turning as i got a friend to turn her over as i watched:rollin

i agree with bri, i think its flooded. the clunk you hear is probably just the starter solonoid. it throws in to start and then back out .

well the thanks was for the info re flooding  advice  so i thought id post a thread re spark plugs as advised the went out to the cari was starting my seat upgrade and thought id try my mechanics advice and just depress the excellerator fully down and just crank till it starts well no joy the as i tried positioning the excellerator at different positions i found that around the middle it sort of made a promissing sound so i pushed the accelerator in and out very quickly around the position that the engine made the promising sound and with a bit of persistance BINGO! not very scientific but it worked the car ran a little lumpy for a short while took it for a quick thrash and its like new
