Guys, can someone have a quick look through the calculations below & see if they sound about right?? I\'m not too sure, but I\'ve checked & tweeked the figures & they seem to be about right! Or I\'ve been tapping a calculator for that long I\'ve gone blind! LOL

Anyway:
All figures are FWHP.

NA 13B REW: about 186bhp (This one could be wrong??)
Stock twins @ 0.9 bar: 350bhp
T04B @ 0.85 bar: 346bhp (max before surge @4k & choke top end)
T04E 60 trim @ 1.17 bar: 385bhp (max before surge @4k & choke top end)

Do these figures sound sbout corredt to you guys? just so I know I\'m getting this all correct for my calulations ;)

Another way to realy test it, is by telling me what turbo you are running and at what pressure (don\'t say BHP), Then I can check back with what my figures tell me.... this way we can see how accurate the formulas are ;)

Imo the figure for stock twins is a little high for a stock ported engine, from research the 350mark seems to be the norm for a street port on twins.

re: stock twins  my stock twins with sports cat and cat-back make 323bhp @ 0.9

nuki

my stock twins with, air filters , intercooler , downpipe , de-cat , back box made 322bhp at 0.75 bar and 298torque from pip

These figures are basicaly calculated with a free flowing intake system (only 1psi of flow lost) and a restriction free exhaust.... basicaly what the physical engine can make. so a full down pipe, decat, & free flow system with an aftermarket induction should run about 350 @ the fly.

im guessing thats for twins

do mine ;)

i assume your talking a stock port engine aswell?

Nuki, those are great figures for only 0.75bar was that on stock ports?  mine was also mapped by pip but mapped for 0.9bar and made 326hp and 289lbs.

It seems that every rebuild is unique as at 0.9bar ive seen posts from people getting anywhere from 290-350hp with similar levels of bolt-ons.

Is this just down to tuning?

Condition of turbos, induction kits vary the intake flow rate, as do brands of exhausts, not to mention the IC pipeing & IC core efficiency.
if all these had poor flow rates you could lose 30 - 40 bhp to ones with good flow rates! Somone was saying they lost about 100bhp by rinning 2 Impreza mid silances on their FC compaird to straight pipes to the rear boxes!!

Well its funny you say...
Because while pip was mapping he thought there was something wrong but i think he just confused himself because he was looking under the bonnet while his mate was pressing the accelerator.. then he pulled a funny face at me lol then after the first run he came and talked to me and said you either have a good engine or really good tubs and i should be happy with them figures...
I said to my mate i would be happy if i got 320bhp before we arrived and that’s what we have so im happy with that. So we left the car at 322bhp at 0.75bar on the first run.

The car was running a standard ECU before apexi tune...
The engine had been fully standard since it entered the country years before the tune.
The car is running 160,000km and totally unknown history...

160k....i would imagine its had a rebuild, it could have had a small port on it at the same time, enough to gain power but not enough for the stock ecu to cry like a little girl. though thats only a guess, what intercooler setup do you have?

£80 universal job off eBay which mounts in front of the radiator.(i purchased a £130 eBay radiator special at the same time) then the outlets come out the side on top of the chassis legs then they go down the side of the radiator then meet back to the standard plenum and crossover
From this when I bought it.

to this.. then i got it mapped.

please excuse the horrible intercooler and radiator mounts. this was temp for mapping + the inlet is now polished aswel.

although i might be wrong about the torque i dont really understand it :$....

hmm i should be looking at some good figures then with mine, stock engine non sequenctial turbos, panspeed fmic, koyo rad, downpipe, decat, racing beat exhaust, apexi induction kit and PFC...what figures do you reckon?

i like your setup, i think it looks pretty good, what is the little blue box that is sitting on the righthand side of the engine next to the strutbrace.

well the power you are making at a low boost shows your cooler is flowing quite well, have you since changed that?

Your right about your torque though, its wrong, its probably 290lb at 5100rpm if you take that blip out.
