It will be very difficult to find someone in this country who can fabricate in Titanium, I can\'t think of anyone off hand. I know in Japan it\'s a lot more popular Mine\'s fabricate their own exhausts but they aren\'t smooth drawn single piece more cut and weld systems. Greedy, HKS and Signal Auto I know do manufacture after market Ti exhausts. but they can be prohibitivly expensive.

What exhaust do you have at the moment? I have a Signal Auto Titanium catback exhaust for sale if you are after another, 80 or 90mm id, 3.5kgs drawn single piece pipe.

Perhaps try looking up some local exhaust specialists and see if they can point you in the right direction.

I\'ve got an ARC fully titanium exhaust on mine, so I can answer the question of whether there\'s any reason you shouldn\'t fit one: No, there isn\'t really. The only drawback of mine is it\'s soooo lovely to look at it\'s a shame to stick it under the car :InLove!

Seriously, though, advantages include exceptional strength for the very light weight, virtually corrosion proof, nice sound (very raspy) but not too loud, looks great. Drawbacks are it\'s very expensive, difficult to draw and needs to be welded out of sections, hard to repair because it needs to be welded in a vaccuum or something like that, thus also hard to add bosses for sensors, change flanges etc.

This ARC one cost me £500 second hand three years ago or so, but I\'ve never seen another. Even the sleeves of the silencers have started going the lovely heat-tarnished rainbow bluey colours now, like I said my only regret is its under the car where it can\'t be seen :D. Plus, it\'s got the best Japlish product slogan ever stamped into a little titanium plate on it, now that\'s Jap quality....shame it\'s gibberish :Hammer

LOL I love translations that go horribly awry! :Laugh

As Nik says Titanium is a lot hardier than even stainless steel it has the highest strength to weight ratio of the metals so they tend to make the exhausts out of thinner sheet. The Signal Auto one I have was £1320 brand new and is ideal for a track car/drag car very low back pressure exceptionally light.

The only thing that stops people is buying one in the first place really, plus on the off chance you had to repair one it would cost quite a lot. They aren\'t really the big thing in the UK but the Far East and the US they are a lot more popular. I\'m a chemist though so I love my exotic materials and I had to try one.

ok thanks guys the other thing i forgot to mention was i would like to be able to have a repackable section although i guess it wont really be nescessery if i get a good silent one in the first place.

I think i may go stainless as at least, as you have pointed out it would be easier to get repaired/changed locally.

my two aims are;
1- it be light,
2- it not be to loud

Rob, why not just get a system from Atomic? I\'ve the standard fit exhaust on the race car and it is exceptionally quiet, well made and repackable. Unless you actually smash it on something it should last years.
