ok up untill yesterday it was fine, the car was fine it was running perfect!

friend of mine had a power fc that he asked me to test for him... unplugged mine plugged his in...

started the car and it idled really low then just died...

so unplugged and stuck mine back on. Went to start the car turned over rough as hell barely running and died, strong smell of fuel, concluded it was flooded.

so i pulled the plugs and the top 2 were soaked. dried them off cleaned them up, took the egi fuse out, turned it over lots of vapour came out, put plugs back in, connected up, turned it over and it started, rough as hell again rev it and it died, idling under 1k, couple of times i got it to rev to 3-4k then it would make a HUGE bang and die...

it had flooded again, took plugs out, cleaned again and used mums car to jump start the battery again start and idle under 1k for a few second and nothing else, it wont go over 1k and eventually dies again :(

tried tow starting drop the clutch and it sounds like the engine is running, push the accellerator NOTHING doesnt rev, doesnt die doesnt do anything, it just does nothing (yes the cable is connected) put your foot on the clutch it dies nothing wont do anything :(

battery is on charge atm as is a jump pack, pretty sure its flooded again, so gonna pull the plugs tomorrow try and get as much fuel out as possible, then pressurise the fuel rail and see if the plugs get wet just incase i have a stuck injector or something :(

but does anyone have any other ideas? how do i check the TPS to make sure its not shafted??

oh it sparks fine on all coils on all plugs, my mother found it hilarious watching me hold the plug boot hand on the engine and tap the engine with the plug and get shocked :(

im seriously stuck and confused as what to do :( does anyone have any other ideas, im getting spark and fuel! im just getting no GO! :(

id say your plugs have thrown a wobbler, stick new ones in it

cyman

check your ecu connectors. i had a similar issue which turned out to be green connections in the ecu connectors from water getting in through the trim fixings at the bottom of the windscreen.

i found when i wigled the connector i could get the car going ok but i ended up having to clean them right up with an electrical spray and a bit of light scraping then i put a electric lubricant on them. it fixed it for me. and i of course stopped the leak 2 so it didnt happen again :)

DC-TYPER

1st thing to check is your battery thro to spark. have you checked your fuses?

dc

MaLicE

fuses etc all checked, gonna try get another set of plugs tomorrow and see what that achieves

cyman

when you have a problem mate normally best to start with the thing you changed about the car before you had the problem thats why i said about the ecu as thats all you changed when it happened.

MaLicE

yeh since then i took everything apart to fault chase lol, im gonna try and get some plugs tomorrow, gonna phone motorfactors in the morning local and see if i can get some more 9\'s looking at mine i have cleaned them up and they still are black :( so i think new ones would be a good start atleast cant see how it can be much else, ignition is fireing, fuel is flowing, but im not getting anything else, asked on fduk and a couple people said straight away change plugs so will give that a go, they have been in and out about 6 or 7 times and been soaked so im thinking they gotta be dead... well hoping!

if not im gonna set myself on fire lol!

Just check the boost isn\'t showing atmosphere on the commander. Possibly the pipe to the boost sensor has popped off and its chucking loads of fuel in.

Any possible issues with your mates PFC? In that did it have an existing map on it which yours has tried to run and lunched something? Although I would imagine it shouldve worked fine when you swapped them back over?
