Guy\'s I got a problem!
Went to start the car this morning to check the voltage on my TPS as I have been having a bit of a misfire around 3800rpm. Turned the key and she cough and spluttered a bit and then turned over and wouldn\'t fire. Battery sounded a little low as she has been sta a few days.. I persisted for a minute or so and figured she was definately flooded by then!
So I pulled out the plugs and dried them with a heat gun.. Pulled the Pump fuse and EGI relay and whizzed her over for 30 secs until the battery was dying.
Then I put the plugs in and tried to fire it up with a boost pack and it didn\'t even fire?
Pulled the plugs again and they were wet so I have done the same as above to try and clear the fuel and left it for now. Got some new plugs coming anyway.
Does it just sound like I didn\'t leave it long enough to dry out inside the engine or should it at least have fired?
I am fairly certain I have a water seal starting to go which could explain the initial rough start.. But it does only loose a very small amount over time. Could that have caused all my tips to go on initial start and hence no starting now?

Please help?
Cheers

I had a similar problem with my car when i needed to go for its MOT in the panic I never spent much time turning it over with the plugs out.

1. Get another running car parked in front, run a jump line between them. (only way to guarentee 12-14v )

2. EGI fuse out then turn over the car for 20 second blasts (leaving ten seconds between) for a total of 5-10 mins, so about 15-20 times, I know it sounds alot but it does make a difference,

3. if possible cleans plugs right up and stick them in the oven (make sure the misses isnt looking) heat them right up (hotter the better) and then being carefull not to burn youself and using an old tea towel cause they will be hot put them back in.

4. Make sure you have the other car still connected up and running, plugs in and egi fuse in start it up.

I cleared my FC without taking the plugs out, just take the EGI fuse out and crank the engine over with the accelerator pedel down to draw in fresh air, pop the EGI fuse back in and try that, if it doesn\'t start maybe after 2 tries, might be best to check the plugs.

Oh yeah forgot to mention the accelerator on FULL, thanks m1tch, :god

Thanks RX7boy..
I will give the above a whirl.. I have had to leave it for today as it was really doing my head in! I only went out to put a volt meter on the TPS for gods sake!! LOL!
I didn\'t realise you had to churn it over so much! I have got the battery on charge.. Will get some jump leads sorted and go for that as well if I get home early one evening.

Just to double check is it the Fuel pump fuse an EGI relay that need to be taken out?

Yeah the EGI fuse basically stops any fuel entering the engine(take fuel pump relay out aswell), So just pull that out. its a right pain, I had such a nightmare with my car until i learn\'t some small tricks to stop the flooding issue, one I learnt and it not proven is as the car is just coming to cutting out after switching ignition off then push accelerator down, this should allow some extra air in to stop fuel settling on plugs and no risk of det as ignition is off.
