Hi,

Have got most of the parts required for my Single turbo project, but before I start I would welcome any opinions on my setup.

Garrett T04R.
HKS Standard Wastegate (Standard spring).
Greddy Profec B 2 Boost Controller.
HKS Mushroom Filter.
TRUST Greddy SMIC with ducting.
Sard Secondary Fuel Rail with 2 x Sard 1000cc Injectors (Biggest I could find:()
Sard FPR.
Bosch 040 In tank pump.
FEED Fuel anti surge collector.
Power FC with Datalogit and Innovate LM-1.

That\'s about all off the top of head :)

Many thanks
Paul

you may need a bit more fuel bud.
I have a very similar setup but with 1600\'s and I was getting 80% duty at 1.2 bar, oh and I hope you have thought about clutch ect.

it depends what sort of power you want to get tbh. i run the same smic as you and run 400bhp with standard 85occ injectors. if you only want that sort of hp then the injectors you have should be fine if you want more power than that then i would go bigger injectors and a different ic as the smic you have will have heat issues over the 400bhp mark

i would advise on a twin power for the ignition. have you also thought about exhaust system??

Many thanks for the replies :Thumbsup!

I forgot to mention I have the following as well-
HKS Twin Power
Greddy pulley set.
Aftermarket Ext (Not sure on make as was already on the car from Japan)

Not really looking for crazy power levels 350 - 400 would suit me fine :p

Many thanks

if your looking for those type of power figures the setup you have there will be fine

lee mills

I used to run just over 500bhp with those injectors so you will be fine

Also you need to think about cooling - get an uprated rad in there as well to cope with the extra heat and also some uprated HT leads - made a huge difference when I swapped my OEM ones!

Also make sure to remove the HKS mushroom and promptly throw it away lol get some Apexi filters, at least with those you can\'t suck the filter material into the turbo!

Many thanks for the all the Input :Thumbs-up

Need i say it again!!!! All the the top japanese rotary tuners (feed, amemiya,Rmagic , and many many more) all use the hks mushroom type filters so there is no reason whatsoever to throw it away just best off replacing the element every year as with all other service items.

The Apexi spunking comes from a aged old test on a supra forum.

If you are using the Greddy SMIC it is not ideal, but will do the job provided you get a decent amount of air flow to it and dont push the car that hard for long periods of time, i.e. on a track.  You will be able to see the charge temps on the Power FC commander (I think you have one?) if they are getting upwards of 50 degrees then you are asking for trouble - as well as loosing power.

If you uprate the standard rad then most are thicker.  Not only are they a pain to fit (have to trim fan housings etc.) but once they are in it does not leave you with any room to get a decent duct to the SMIC.  You may find that an uprated rad is not needed for road use as long as your standard one is in good condition.

Awfully big turbo for a mere 350/400. Personally I would ditch the greddy smic, unless you are running water/alochol injection on top of it...

as far as the greddy is concenerd i run 370 all day long with mine it has some ducting but could be greatly improved the only time it gets warmer is from heatsoak in the summer in traffic jams but then show me a rex that doesnt get warmer in those conditions and also when i do a track day in the summer i cant run high boost which is 400bhp for much more than 3-4 laps before it gets to hot. however drop it back to 370bhp and do one cooling lap and then it runs fine all day long.

also dont forget i am runnin non seq twins which really produce a lot of heat when pumping out that much boost/power.

for the power you are running get the greddy ducting properly and it will be fine but if you intend going higher than 400 in the future then sell it and get a good fmic or go v mount.
