Hi everyone, I am going to be bleeding my brakes this weekend as the new pads and disks have been fitted now, but its basically lethal to drive as the pads havn\'t bedded in, there is air in the lines and I can brake harshly else the pads won\'t break in evenly lol

What order do I need to bleed them?

Passenger rear, driver rear, passenger front, driver front?

Thats the order I work in,

Furthest away from the master cylinder and work your way towards it
All the best Clive

Indeed :)

And then I bleed the ABS unit as the last thing I do :)

The order for ABS is opposite sides to a non ABS - so furthest pipe run first would be the driver rear, then the passenger rear and so on...

ive still never had o worry about the order you go in we was told to do it in that order at ollege before my apprenticeship but once in a garage was just told to bleed them as if your bleeding them properly the only way the air can go is out lol

The order thing is more to do with replacing the fluid - by doing the longer run first, you will have fresh fluid in reservoir, abs unit (if you have it) and manifold. Then as you bleed the other pipes - there is only the old fluid in their pipes to change along with any trapped air.  If you do the shorter pipes first, there is a possibility of getting older fluid pulled back in from the longer pipe runs - particulary if they do have trapped air.

yeah i see what your saying but you can also let gravity do the work for you ive found that can sometimes work wonders

ie open the nipple and leve to drip away by itself while you do other jobs lol

on the subject of brakes i need a master cylinder gutted lol

I agree with the just letting it drip a while method, found i get a very good and tight feel with the pedal doing this way
