Hi there, just need to check if this would be ok to run as a temporary measure, although I might not need one.

Basically the Walbro fuel pump is increasing my fuel pressure due to me only having the fuel pump and the OEM FPR. This means that the chipped ecu thinks that I am running stock fuel pressure so injects X fuel, but due to the extra pressure it is dumping X+more fuel meaning its running uber rich (good for flames lol)

I have a Greddy e-manage ultimate almost all plugged in, but I was thinking of getting an ebay special FPR with guage as a temporary thing so that the car runs as the ECU wants it to.

This will only be temporary as I need to save up for the Aeromotive or Fuellabs FPR, braided lines and AN aeroquip fittings, and as you can tell, thats not the cheapest setup!

Found something like this on ebay:

Hmmm, I\'ve got one very like that which I got cheapy chips from someone on here. Found that it would hold pressure more or less, but "adjustable" is a bit of a misnomer. It\'s kinda on or off, really, very hard to actually adjust it without it leaping from "trickle" to "fire hydrant" in the blink of an eye. Yeah, it\'d probably fudge it long enough to get through an MOT but I wouldn\'t rely on one to supply consistent fuel pressure for any protracted use. The gauge was wildly innaccurate, too.

If possible, I\'d advise putting the money into a decent one, tbh. Then you only have to buy the one. I think buying something like this cheap is a false economy, when you pretty much already know it\'ll be cack and need replacement soonest. Plus rich is good, at least it won\'t eat your engine like leaning out would

With that said, if you\'re determined to go down that route...if you wanna cover postage, you\'re welcome to the one I\'ve got in the garage, it may be ok for a temporary bodge for you. It\'d probably cost a fiver to post, but it\'s cheaper than the nearly 30 quid you\'d spend on that eBay one

i have an fse fixed rate type fitted to my fc there cheap and it works fine

I might be able to map out the richness, I have booked my car into mazda for friday for a coolent leak, compression test and an emissions test, im running an airpump still, so it might be ok, but until I get the results back I don\'t know if I will need one until friday.

It should be fine with the air pump still on M1tch.

If it is a little heavy on the hydrocarbons, then we can dial out a few percent on the primary injectors at idle.
