Replacing radiator - any coolant hoses I should replace?

As title really - expecting my shiny new Koyo rad shortly, and figured if there are any hard to reach coolant hoses that regularly fail I should check / replace them whilst the system is drained and I have some space to work in.

What are your thoughts?  The two main (fat) hoses to the radiator are easy to replace at any time, and easy to spot leaks in - but what about the rest of them?  Are there any that are known to fail because they get baked etc?

I should say, I have actually read the Coolant sticky!

I\'m just not in a better-safe-than-sorry kind of mood (i.e. empty wallet), and would rather just focus on the hoses that are most likely to need replaced.  God knows what I\'d have to pay for all 14 hoses new...

Not near the rad hoses, but I\'d replace the TB coolant hoses as a matter of course - should cost you less than £20 for the pair :)

Just check for any cracks in the walls of the hoses, and then make your decision.  Make sure the clamps you use are working too....if they are cheap jubilee style clips then check they are still locking fine as they have a tendency to damage the locking mechanism when over tightened....it will sit there and just click...

turbo coolant hoses, if you can be bothered to get to them :)

You could pressure test your hoses, I did all mine while I was pressure testing the engine and other other parts. My hoses looked old but they held out well got around 25 psi before I blew the bungs out, if they can hold say 14 psi for a given time then they should be fine. you may be able to rig something up with a foot pump, save a few quid too.

Cheers guys.  I\'ll be taking my downpipe off and putting it back on again to try and solve an exhaust leak, so I\'ll have some space to work around the turbo pack for the coolant hoses there.

Think I\'ll leave the throttlebody hoses until I\'ve bought an airpump removal kit: I\'ll blank off EGR, simplify the rats nest and install a RIAT and do the hoses at the same time.
