Curious to know whats the most power anyone has had on stock ports?
Just deciding wether to have my engine ported or not whilst its out having a refresh, the car in question has got a T88-33d with full supporting modifications

The bigger the turbo the bigger the porting - this way you get the most out of it e.g. quicker spooling more hp...:yes .

loads of threads on this just have to search..what supporting mods are you running?

All i can say on stock ports, is that there are some ppl in the states that has gotten out over 700rwhp on a completely stock engine before it took an apex seal. This was with a huge turbo and E85.

U can find the thread on the RX7club forum somewhere.

750rwhp in the States? So that\'s about 550 atf in the UK then? ;)

A lot\'s going to depend on the turbo used, but personally I\'d not even consider running a reasonably large turbo on stock ports. You may still get decent peak power, but it\'s not just about the highest point to me, it\'s about the area under that graph.

You could end up with a 1.5k 600+hp powerband, but I\'d much rather have a 4.5k 450+hp powerband with a ported block to match a small/medium single.

I think this was to test and see how much power the stock engine could handle. It was with a GT45 turbo i belive and somewhere around 30 psi or something :P

yep the same car with stock ports with the GT45 also run a high 9 second quarter mile as well

I know James at JM garage\'s FD (build by Haywards) had its wastegate jammed shut as the spring had snapped, boosted to 2.2 bar, so about 31psi, didn\'t blow a tip or anything :) so yes it is possible to run big boost like that if its mapped correctly, it will survive if its been well built, but no it won\'t do that all the time lol
