I\'ve been on the internet trying to find where I can get a "Hygrade repair kit" , reading through some of the forums it is said to be the kit to get. The last kit I got from the US was not a Hygrade kit, and you all know what happened to that one, any idears.............

I have just ordered a kit from these people,
 http://www.blackdragonauto.com/features/rx/rxcrk.htm
Its was only $24.95 plus shipping (they will email me the shipping price), I Know its not a Hygrade kit, but at that price I could not resist it, lets wait and see if its ok.

Bought from them before. Was very good. Love all the stuff in their catalogue.

Looks like a useful kit indeed... Bookmarked for future.
I got a simpler kit from Rotechnics as was. Nothing as comprehensive as this one.

David while searching for info for this kit, I found an old forum topic circa 2007 no which someone was selling a new Nikki carb for £100 and you had phoned, did you buy that carb ?

David Nock (RIP)

No, I didn\'t in the end.
Got to be a good deal if he\'s still got it. From memory what stopped me was I didn\'t know exactly what Series 1st Gen it was for or whether it was truly new, not just jet washed. The old guy was dead straight, no doubt, he said it had come in a crate and looked new, that was it really.
Worth ringing I would think.

Even if it was new its probably old stock so any rubber parts will be hard or perished.
I would stick with the rebuild kit route, third time lucky and all that.

I have tried to ring the number , but no reply, but it was a couple of years ago, so I will go with the rebuild when the kit arrives, as I now have two carbs to choose from thanks to you Keith

Funny old world the chap still had the carb, I have sent a chk to him and he will post it.
Lets wait and see...............lets hope I can make a good carb out of the 3 of them......

hi, i am rebuilding my carb and found the above for the nikki carb. i havent had my fb long so am learning what i have on the car and what i should have still. seems like a good link and the forum if you have never visited is very small( around 87 members) in the u.s. that said they seem very knowlageable and very very helpfull. they deal in the gen one specific for the most and have always answered my questions. if you google sterling metal works there is an options list including bymc (back yard mechanics club) where you can join the forum.
i also have a part number of 8341 - 23 - 510 which is the mazda o.e. number for the rebuild kit and am waiting for price and availability. will post if i have any look.

the above should be a link that contains some mazda pics including mazda fb carb 2 thats the pic from mazda parts showing the carb rebuild kit and number. if anyone has tried this line before and could let me know if its right and still available that would be great. many thanks jon.

Jon ....I tried to get a kit through Mazda, and was told they did not exisit. I have ordered one from the states, there is a link at the begining of this therad.
The sterling site is very good but you have to read it a few times to get your head around it.

   Good Luck
