The whole thing here is that it\'s not just about peak power, it\'s alaso the area under the graph.
That\'s one facet anyways. The other is the whole \'package\' - Now don\'t get me wrong, I love my FD, by I certainly wouldn\'t prefer the interior of the FD, for instance, or the build quality, or the reliability of a 550 odd FD.

Probably does not need to rebuild it that often at 9.3 litres 2200 its not the limit for that engine
Don\'t get me wrong anyone that can make a car cross 1/4 of a mile in 7 seconds must know his stuff but i just don\'t see the point of Drag racing in general? once you have got to the point you know your car is not going to get .5 of a second quicker without spending serious money what happens next? doesn\'t it get boring after 10 runs when you can predict the out come of each run?

Plus having the quickest Road car in Brittan is handy at the moment :(

Drag racing is a Sport like any other (proper drag racing is not rwyb where you competing against the clock lol), he competes in a class against other guys, at a FIA drag racing meeting he will compete against other cars capable of doing 7 second runs as well doing rounds then onto eliminations then a final. Its all about first past the post so reaction to the lights is verrrry important.

Never boring in my opinion as the side by side racing is very close, but hey either you luv drag racing or you hate it

Yeh i know what Drag racing is, i have been to a top fuel meet in the US a few years ago. The way i see it is every one has a car that potentaly will pull X seconds on the 1/4 and the skill is to get it off the line quicker than the guy next to you, so after those tenths/hundredths of a second you are there for the ride.

Don\'t get me wrong i think 7 seconds in a Tubed steel bodied car is Amazing and as a privateer it must take real dedication (he must love racing it) but it begs the question why use it on the road if its a top of its game drag car?

BlitzBoy

Also the skill is to keep the thing in a straight line or to control the tyre shake thoughout the run, you are not simply just there for the ride after launch IMO

The question why he uses it on the road, because he can and you can see the enjoyment it gives him by driving it to the shops or going for a cruise. Instead of waiting to use the car maybe 6-7 times a year at a Drag racing event he has the option of using his pride and joy on the road anytime he likes.

Its all subjective here, one mans heaven is another mans hell.

I luv the feeling I can drive my car on the road and also race the car on the drag strip, its a buzz pure and simple.

go to the awd section and look up the figures for the lambos or anything else. then punch all the stats for a lambo and any power fd you want into the performance calculator and arguements solved.

Erm thats not correct/Current? it says its Lamborghini Murcielago SV was made in 06 where they didn\'t make the SV until 09 the weight is 1819kg and the hp is 650hp which is wrong, the current LP670 4 SV is 1500kg and between 661hp and 670hp (tolerance at the factory dyno) which makes the current SV very quick.. Well it brings the 1/4 down into the 10\'s

rx jamie

so in any case, you have your answer then.

im sure theres not many 260bhp fd\'s around.
playing on that torque cal thingie, a 350bhp fc would do 0-60 sprint in about 4.1 secs
for the money u spend, i dont think a lambo driver would be too pleased it cant loose a 19yr old car costing literally a fraction of the lambo :rollin
WINNER :p

PS i think my exhaust will be louder than lambo also. WINNER x2 :p

Out of interest what does a T2 weigh?

im guessing about 1200kg
it doesn\'t matter if a rex (fd / fc) is faster than a lambo or not, to me what makes it amusing / fun is that for a fraction of the cost of a lambo the rex has a similar pace to the lambo and for a car that is 19 yrs old is pretty impressive :)

Ahh a performance calculator does not estimate grip effectively, in the real world on the road a AWD Lambo Murcielago will minch any FD/FC regardless of power off the lights
