Thats a shame as it looks a half decent car............
Ian, how do you post photos on here, it asks for the photos  URL how do I find it ?

Donavan

Very good car and as there was very little interest in it complete, some of you guys may be able to find use for the thing in bit\'s and theres plenty more!!!

David Nock (RIP)

NO....oooooo. Makes economic sense but sad to break.

What\'s the plenty more hinting at?  Still would like that 3rd Reg Don.

Dibs,
I\'ve found the easiest way to put pictures up is to use Photobucket, which is free to use, takes about 2 minutes to register with / set up and is basically a huge on line photo album which is great for uploading photos and videos to.
It\'s also a doddle to use.

Step 1. click on this link and register for free: http://photobucket.com/

Step 2. Log in and on the top tool bar click the albums and upload link

Step 3. click \'upload images and videos\'

This will open a browsing window to enable you to find the pic / video that you are looking to upload like this...

Select your file and click \'open\'. The file will then automatically upload.

It will then appear in your photobucket album like this ( assuming it\'s a picture of a cat!)

The first time you use photobucket you need to manually set the image size you want. You only ever need to do this once.
To do this, log into your photobucket account, underneath the \'Upload images and video\' button is a line of text which says
\' Use CTRL to select multiple files (more options) \'
Click on the \'(more options)\' hyperlink and it will give you a number of image sizes to select.
I selected \'17" screen\' and it works great for me.
Once you\'ve selected your size, click \'save\' and your done.

To link to an image from a forum or website, select your photobucket image or video

put your mouse cursor over the image and a box entitled \'link options\' will appear. Left click on the box that says \'image code\' and copy this line of text. Simply paste this into your post on the forum your posting on.

It sounds a bit complicated but when you\'ve done it once, it\'s a piece of cake!

The beauty of it is that you remain in full control of your images, if you want to delete them you can and because you aren\'t actually uploading images to a forums server, only linking to them, you don\'t have to worry about image sizes.

Cheers,
Ian

Thanks Ian...............I\'ll try soon

Ian65 - I now own the car you refer to as Cals old car - C967 DKP - anything I should know, good or bad ?

David, perhaps you need to record this - will live in Rossendale, Lancashire.

Perhaps not the place to say "Hello All" but I have done it now on my first post.

More posts to come as I explore the car.

Hi and welcome to the 1st gen forum!
This is the place to be if you own a 1st gen.
We\'ve been following the fortunes of your RX7 for a few weeks now and I for one, am glad that it\'s found an owner to take an interest in it, which I\'m sure you will do if you\'ve already taken the time to join this forum.

I don\'t know much about your car, but when it was up for sale a couple of weeks ago, the ad stated that it had full mot. If that\'s the case, you\'ve had a right result. It shouldn\'t have serious corrosion and you can just enjoy driving it and improve it at your leisure.
It\'s much more fun to do a rolling restoration than being stuck in the garage with a pile of bits!

It looks a nice car with good potential and a bit of love and affection will do it the world of good. They are easy enough to work on and the parts are cheap if you deal with some of the lads on this forum who have parts cars.

Any questions or queries, just ask away. There aren\'t many of us on here but we are all genuine 1st generation RX7 nuts and are a really friendly bunch.

Cheers,
Ian

I\'ll second that..............wellcome to the madhouse.

Thanks for the welcome chaps.
Yes I think i got a genuine bargain. The car has been sold a few times recently however it has been traded between 2 of my friends until I have bought it yesterday so I am not concerned about its recent history. The history I have suggets it has had plenty of money thrown at it 2004 onwards and drives very well.

Yes I intend to keep the car and to be honest just maintain its condition, I am only 23 and have other commitments for money (namely a mortgage and following Burnley FC) so I cant throw money at the car. It really will be a Sunday and Sunny day car for me. I picked the car up cheap after my friend was messed around with a couple of ebay bidders and car traders.

Im sure I will have plenty of questions in due course and am very happy to have stumbled upon some helpful information across this site and enthusiasts such as yourselves.

welcome, i was about 19/20 when i brought my first 7 insurance was as much as the car but i learnt a lot by not having the money to pay someone else to do it! these cars ar fairly simple (stripping one down really helps) so dont be afraid of doing stuff, i like the fact that other are scared of the rotary like its from outterspace lol, good luck and if you get time read through mine and others threads (link in my signiture) it may be helpfull!

A7RXY

Well said Mark, I got my first 7 in 81, and only starded to work on them in the last year, mainly because, the only people who work on them as a profession are few and far between. All the best info has come this forum or  the RX7 forum in the States.......So good luck, and just think when you are driving around in yours you will not be driving one of those square boxes around like eyeryone else.

Just to correct an earlier post - My new reg is C970 DKP not C967 DKP

Car is looking all the better for a few hours spent cleaning her before the girlfriend woke this morning.

Thankyou to everyone who has offered your advices and I dare say I will have a sift through the previous posts on here and no doubt have my own questions or experiences to put out there.

Darren

Feel free to ask away Darren. But now you\'re the owner of a really cool car the girlfriend should have put the hours in cleaning while you stayed in bed!

Ooo err.....the Missus would kill me for that.....I\'m a car cleaning slave that\'s what I am!
