random question but saw this pic of an fc with a tripple, look at the pullys and belts, they are toothed...

now most people run oversized pulleys when they remove the airpump and the way the water pump is driven doesnt seem ideal to me?

anyone know if a company produces these pulleys??

I think is to do with the water pump and how its driven, I think the FD water pump runs anti clockwise and the FC and 20B waterpumps are clockwise

Piccy link doesn\'t work :(

Anyone know where you get those toothed pulleys from - they do look like a good solution to the slipping water pump.

I also noticed that East Coast Parts are doing an electric water pump that fits in the stock water pump location - seems another solution the problem - although they seem expensive.

if you want an electric water pump then you can just get an adapter and run a craig davies (or correct spelling thereof) pump. by the time you are thinking of that though, chances are you will have taken off the air con, air pump and most likely power steering, just leaving the alternator. you could probably get enough drive from a standard belt for the alt, so the added expense of this becomes a bit pointless? IIRC I think they may increase wear and noise, but I could be so very very wrong!

Was thinking ahead a bit - for another project that might involve a supercharger.  The belts look very similar to the drive belts on those Vortex ones ;)

I\'m way ahead of you dave  ;);)
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

for clockwise turning water pump with airpump deleted just use the standard alt belt
and on the remaining main pulley and water pump V you slip over a 10A 550 belt
- without any form of tensioner
( its already perfect fit and will require bicycling the belt on by turning engine over by hand as you fit the belt )
[ like when you fit a bicycle chain ]

this is far better solution than twin V belts,, or gilmer drive
it is cheap at less than $10 aus
it will eliminate squeal
if the alt/pump belt is thrown,, you will still have water pump drive
( twin V often takes out the other belt at same time )
it will allow you to obtain full tension on the original alt pulley
( twin V cannot )

personally,, i have tried all the options
gilmers suck,, at $35 AUS each a belt,, that last bugger all before stripping or edge fraying
they also walk forward under load
they also SUCK for the noisy racket they make

- and i actually had a 13b with wray supercharger with gilmer and they where louder at times than the supercharger
( and i took that back to twin V due to the belt expense/ use rate )

Fair play :Thumbs-up
