That Sounds like a good idea. I think there is a good day at Santa Pod on the 10th October. I could have the date wrong but i believe this is another Jap car event along the lines of JAE. Maybe someone could help me on the dates?

Id love to have my FD by then but i wont be ordering until next year at the mo. I need to get some cash saved up in case of emergencies ( Like rebuilds and insurance companies trying to rip me off).
That said im hoping to get a good quote as the Rex will be a 3rd car in the household with me and the missus, ltd mileage etc.

Fingers crossed all will work out for all those Rex dreamers out there!!!

Well itlooks like you have a little while to get loads of info etc about the cars before you make your final decision! Although i\'d probably recommend ot staying on here too long, i stumbled across this site a complete newbie, just toying with the idea of an FD, and now it seems there\'s no way i\'m going to survive without one! :D

TBH, it\'s prob going to be next year for me too. Especially if i go down the newera route...by the time i\'ve figured out what i want and Miguel\'s found one & shipped it it\'s bound to be next year before i take delivery!

Check with Newera, as I\'ve not dealt with them, but I\'m pretty sure I\'ve read that they offer warranty through motormall who do their SVA\'s etc.  and that the motormall warranty (although fair) doesn\'t cover rotary engine rebuilds.

I could be wrong and if so, apologise in advance if anyone thinks this an inappropriate comment to make.

Ive heard about the warranty issue with Newera as well. I think i read another thread where Motermall refused to sort out a rebuild only a few weeks after delivery. Considering the warranty is £350 then it could be a bit of a problem.

I guess this is the risk you run when buying a rotary but the risks are very high. I would be very miffed if i spent 10g on the car and then had to shell out 3-4g on a rebuild.

That Said Newera seem to have a cast iron rep on this forum.

I suppose if you want a car that is rare, fast as F*&k, and looks stunning this is the risk that you have to take.

I\'m up for it!!!!!

FDDreamer

From memory i think Newera do cover for rotor tips and seals, but as to whether that would constitute a full re-build i don\'t know.

I suppose it would depend on what caused the rebuild to be necessary in the first place. Unfortunately i\'ve got no idea as to the technical details as yet, although i do recall the instance you mentioned, but it does seem to be the only exception.

Still, as you said, it\'s the nature of the beast...and in a perverse way a little part of the FD\'s appeal! Stops Joe Average from getting one, as it really means you need to have an active understanding of the car and care for it a whole lot!!

Id Be Interested to see if a rebuild was indeed covered by the Newera Warranty?

It would certainly sway my decision between some of the import companies that are on this forum!!!!

As i said i would be upset of my car blew after a few weeks.

Another option would be Brian @ Rotary Imports (BNA_ELLIS on here), pretty sure he can personally source you one (and also carries stock) and his warranties are the best you\'ll find anywhere. Like Newera, you\'ll be VERY hard pressed to find anything but praise for Brian and the cars he supplies!

It looks like Brian or Miguel are the ones to go for.

I dont see many Blue or Silver carsa advertised though? Are these harder to get of? I think these two colours look FAB on the
FD.

FDDreamer

Yeah very true mate. The blue (Innocent Blue Mica) is one of the nicest colours on ANY car, and looks different in every pic i\'ve seen of it! There are different shades of silver (depending on the year) and they all look great too, very classy and shows off the lines of the car perfectly. Think they are called Sunlight Silver Metallic, Highlight Silver Metallic and Silverstone Metallic, in order from new to old. Don\'t hold me to that though!! ;)

Half the fun of ordering one has gotta be specifying what you want, and from what i\'ve heard it really pays to be specific (within reason!).

Guess your right on ordering the car. I defo want a Blue or Silver since i think they look the best. (quality Grammar)

Cant wait to order it but that wont be till next year at the mo. Unless i win some cash or take on some underworld hitman type job.

just got an insurance quote thought £850 through tesco which i thought was quite good. that is for a 26 yr old, 7 yrs with licence, 6 yr ncd, in low crime area. Also its gonna be a weekend car since i drive a nice taxable company motor at the mo.

Would Brian Source me a Blue one if i asked nicely do you think? Im still not sure on the whole warranty and motermall thing?

bnaellis

I\'m sure I could if asked nicely:D  I definitely could if asked nicely and paid:rollin
I had a friends mica blue 99 spec for about 2-3 weeks once we decided to swap cars for a few weeks. I loved it but still think black is best for FD\'s
