Gentlemen

After 3 months\' long wait for parts and etc I have finally have the engine rebuilt with

1. street port;
2. a fairly large exhaust port;
3. 1600cc secondary and standard primary injectors;
4. V-mount intercooler and radiator kit;
5. GTR fuel pump;
6. To4Z turbo kit;
7. Power fc and blitz sbc

Just ran 400 miles with the fresh engine with no boost. Just 600 miles before the mapping. The main purpose of the car will be for track day funs and will see some road action as well. So my questions are:

a. what sort of power should I be able to achieve with setup?
b. what sort of power will give me better balance on track? (As a lot of Japanese time attack FDs doesn\'t need a huge amount of hp to be flying around the circuit.)
c. how long will my standard clutch last with eith set up?
d. I am running 235/255 R888s atm. I\'ll be swaping to A048 after I finish with the R888s. What size should I go for?

Most importantly, if anyone has a dyno graph with their T04Z it will be most helpful!:god:god:god

I have a to4r with similar spec, you will like it :) very much :) power and spool will depend on who ported and who maps yoir car. 1bar is fun, 1.2-4bar is more so :o think blitzboy made over 500fwhp with his just to give you an idea.  Your clutch won\'t last long btw

Big horse power isnt essential on the track unless you can either
a) get the power down
b) have the know-how on how to use it.

Look for drivability more than pure power!

Getting a bit more rubber down is good, but dont lose the split front to rear otherwise too much grip on the rear and you will develop understeer...likewise too much rubber at the front will enduce oversteer.

Oh by the way....it was nice knowing your clutch!  Time for a twin plate ;)

a. what sort of power should I be able to achieve with setup?

450 ish

b. what sort of power will give me better balance on track? (As a lot of Japanese time attack FDs doesn\'t need a huge amount of hp to be flying around the circuit.)

all depends on what tracks. The 4 of us that did TA this year had 3 different turbos GT4202, GT4094, and T88 34d and GK

c. how long will my standard clutch last with eith set up?

all depends how you drive it. Few of us TA drivers use twin plates but Stu uses a single plate with a GT4094r with no problems at all

d. I am running 235/255 R888s atm. I\'ll be swaping to A048 after I finish with the R888s. What size should I go for?

All depends on width of the the rim and what size rims. If 17\'s 255 will be fine on rear. If 18\'s myself and Ben use 285

Sounds promising! A healthy 500fwhp is just what I am hoping for.

Fingers crossed for that.

FYI, the T04Z on my car came from Blitzboy. Let\'s hope this turbo live upto its old glory.

Quote from: FD3UK;648235Which T04Z do you have, HKS or Greddy?
I have the Garrett one. HKS are \'improved\' Garrett turbos and Greddy has a different line of turbos as I recall.

Thanks. Any twin plate clutch/fly wheel you recommand?

If price no object I\'ll go ORC. Just wonder if there is anything good with a more reasonable price.

I hope that\'s whp you are refering to.

I guess I should be alright with a T04Z then.

My clutch is bone standard so I guess I should be switching to twin plate some point in the future... considering I don\'t do any drag racing or launching I hope it will last till summer:cheers

Wow, I didn\'t know the size of the wheel makes such a big difference! You have to forgive my ignorance and I always prefered smaller wheels due to weight, comfort, handling and cheaper tyres. However, I really don\'t understand how can 18inch wheels need 30mm more width to have the same amount of grip as a 17inch one? Assuming both using same tyres?

SiH

Wheel diameter has nothing to do with the width of tyre you can run on them. At all.
Wheel width does.
