                                                             CO    7.21%
                                                             CO2 9.1%
                                                             O2     1.4%

the air pump is not working on the car.   how much difference will an air pump bring this down by??

i only need the mot so i can register it thats all. so neeed cheapest option. its going straight into garage till i come back from new zealand.
if i had 8 hour to cut down a tree. i`d spend 6 sharpening the axe

usual q\'s lead on from that bud....
have you got an Apexi FC / commander?
air pump will help.... a little.

what year is your car? as I believe ( well know ) that there are 2 diff tests depending on year! CAT test..... and NON CAT test......

If its a 92-93 then this is a grey area for cat tests and \'should\' be tested as a non cat car. However, when Itook our Grants car a couple of years ago my friendly mot man said about the7.5% co level, \'You\'re taking the ....\' unquote .Its got to be less than 3.5% for a non cat car or no pass, sorry.- Youy could bring it to Huddersfield and take it to the same place as me,this guy doesn\'t even check the co level he likes Grants car so much!!!!

With my airpump, my FC is producing a CO of 0.45% lol

I use a bottle of cataclean, works wonders on our cars for mot, No emission control at all. And they pass
V8 fd\'s rock :cool

Check for air leaks, the TPS ranges, and idle speed. New plugs help a lot too. And yes, the air pump will make a big difference. Just been through this myself, it was a bit of a pain, but learned a lot in the process.

I can\'t see whether the car is standard or has an apexi on it. One of the things you could do either way is run the car low in fuel and stick some methanol in the fuel tank. The only emissions you get with methanol is water. However it is important to stick a little two stroke- preferably Castrol\'R\' or Millers KB2T at 100:1 with the methanol. As soon as you have done the emission test fill the car up with petrol and it will be fine.

managed to get it through in the end. i forgot to tell them the engine was transplanted from a 92 rx7 :-) so it had the pre cat test on the retest and passed  yay
