Is a remap required/recommended/optional/not required after fitting an uprated fuel pump on an otherwise standard fuel system.

Pfc has been mapped previously and running top dolla but thinking for £60 or so i could fit a fuel pump one weekend and lower my duty cycle even more.

Just isnt so simple/cheap if i have to do a another round trip to give pip another handful of notes for the sake of a fuel pump.

on a side note, dont most mappers charge like £300 (ish) for the initial main mapping session, then maybe like £100 (less than initial map) per session thereafter for further little modifications? (cheaper for subsequent maps due to just tweeking the map rather than \'creating\' a new map initially)

Pip didnt mention anything like that when he mapped mine although it would make sense to me.

does the map require modifying then to get injector duties down ???

In theory, if the FPR manages to rgulate the pressure properly, it shouldn\'t matter two hoots. However, in practice, it seems that the increase in feed pressure from an uprated pump can often overpower the stock FPR and cause overfuelling.

On the plus side, better to overfuel than under!

Changing the pump neil wont affect your map or anything like that. No need to go see pip again :D

I would run a direct feed from your battery with a relay though

Different fuel pumps pump differing volumes of fuel even if pressure is the same so you should really get it checked out.

If you run a direct feed to the pump then it will also affect fueling making it rich at low rpm due to the voltage increase.

As been said before changing the fuel pump to a higher flowing pump WILL make the car run richer , so yes the map will need to be tweeked and then you will see lower injector duties
