Hi guys! After the engine rebuild I have a problem. After every 15 kilometers\\ 10-11 minutes engine goes into emergency mode. Same thing happens at 5500-6500 rpm when aggressive driving. I suspect that this is due to removal oil metering pump. When we first started the engine without this thing
motor worked in emergency mode continuously. We hooked up one of the connectors to the wiring in the car and engine was working normally. But at first 500 km we saw this problem. My car is jdm rx-7 fc3s gt-x 1990 year
whith manual gearbox (automatic in stock),stock ECU, bridgeport on stock turbo. Oil- motul 300v in engine and motul 2t mineral motomix 100 to the gas tank.Maybe someone already encountered such problem. Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome to the club.

Im sure an expert will be along to advice you shortly. Just wondered what injectors and ecu you are running? It could be fuel cut?

Hi and welcome to the club :)

Was your OMP one of the electric ones (stepper motor), or a mechanical linkage on the throttle body ?

If you\'ve got the eletric one, the ECU will keep going in limp mode - there are 2 circuits that are checked - the stepper motor is checked to see if it\'s present (shorted / open circuit) and the ecu will give a fault code and go into limp mode if it\'s not present, and also there is a variable resisitor built into the OMP - this is used for feedback of the OMP position - again you get a fault  code and limp mode.

If you don\'t want to refit the OMP, just wire the old OMP into the loom somewhere out of site - it will then give the correct feed back signals.

I run stock injectors, and stock ECU (but my car was at automatic gearbox.I traveled half the year with a manual, while the engine is not broken.)Now I am forced to go off and include the ignition every 15 km.I have apexi turbo timer and A\\F ratio is 17-18  when the engine stops working properly.after i go off and include the ignition all normal.I run first 2000 km and anddecided to try to untwist the engine up to 7000 (not smoothly and rapidly and under load)engine again switched this mode on 5500-6000 rpm at 160 km\\h.I thought I had done more during after rebuild: i remove EC-AT block ,may be it is the reason.Sorry my bad english.

Thank you I think that I need to consult an electrician so that he soldered deception-module.

Not sure how easy that is to do - there was a guy looking into this on the rx7club.com in the US - but not sure how far he got.  Fooling the ECU about the stepper motor is easy enough - some 20-50 ohm resistors will do that (you need 4 as the motor is a 4 winding stepper motor), but the position feedback is a little tricker ;)

Your device needs to interpret the signals fed to the omp and then set a resistance or voltage feedback based on that.  It could probably be done with a small microcontroller or some logic gates.

We will think about it. In our country, not so easy to find  correct oil. Last year i drive on
idemitsu ,but now it is often not available. So I will not put OMP back. Thanks for the valuable advice!
