Anyone had their nikki carb rebuilt, I have bought a repair kit from the states and have been quoted £150 to do the rebuild, any idear if this is about right ?

David Nock (RIP)

Never considered a price for a Nikki rebuild but it must be quite a time consuming job.
There is a download available showing the rebuild in absolute detail. I think it\'s on the Rotaryart site. Let me know if you\'re interested and can\'t find it.

What about looking for a good one on a scrapper? Could be cheaper and easier but of course what\'s a good\'un and whats not? To answer the question, Yes for a top class rebuild I\'d pay that sort of cash. The wizard on Nikkis is supposed to be a guy signing in as \'Stirling\' on the US site. Now if he was doing it....deffo yes.

The reason for the rebuild is that its a bit, should we say, clogged up having been standing for 11 years. I will have it rebuilt as it the original and I\'m trying to keep it as original as possible.

Ive got a few nikki carbs knocking about if you need one or bits, Ive modded mine slightly by making the secondaries open mechanically but this does give a flat spot if you boot it at lower revs, to overcome the flat spot the diaphragm on the accelerator pump needs a couple of spacer gaskets.
I also have a genuine mazda carb manual somewhere, I will root it out and try to get it scanned and posted on here.

Cheers Keith, I\'ll see how they get on with this one first.

Just thought i\'d add these for anybody who fancies a rebuild, its from a genuine Mazda training manual I managed to get my hands on.
