EGi Air Flow meter removal

Ok, After swapping an FD brake master cylinder for a cone filter, M1tch told me what I need to do to fit it, but buggered if i can remember, amnesia is rife within me...

he did tell me about the air flow meter, but I\'m wondering, can I remove it altogether, it would seem a lot easier and would help with the breathing without that little flap within the housing...

cant i just take the air flow meter out and run the cone directly through the intake hose?

If not, where can i get the square to circular adapter?

Oh yeah, I also got some Kei racing seats off of him... need seat rails, anyone know where to aquire some, I can weld if need be...

i had one of those adaptors but i gave it to retro boy g. Ill send him a text. (he never used it).

And i don\'t believe you can ditch the AFM, unless you have another way to map the car

You need the AFM so the car can adjust how much fuel to put in, The only way you can get rid is if you got to a full standalone engine managment which uses a MAP sensor, Megasquirt, PFC ect

ahh darn, ok, where can i get this adapter from then? and the seat rails?

Would it be the best idea to get a couple of regtangular hollow bars, drill out the right bolt holes and bolt them in that way...?

seat rails, you can get some bride ones from MRC but they\'re not cheap, they should fit other seats too.
 
As for the adaptor, i\'d look for a company that makes pipe work. Find the right size pipe and see if you can get a flanged one. Then drill away!

I checked with prof, apparently the 2 sorts of air flow meter aren\'t compatible, so you will just need to bolt on an adaptor plate, its a mazda part, but would need to check the size, but you are looking for something like this:
