Well, I\'ve been toying with the idea of selling the FD as I simply don\'t use it enough these days.

Anyway, I have a mate who was looking to move on to a new car and I offered to take him out in the FD to give him a taster.

I was driving and chatting to him about it running costs etc.

Take one RX7, add a bell-end in a Vectra driving without due care, mix in a little innocent Golf driver and this is what you\'re left with...

I was behind the vectra, he decided to go for an overtake after tailgating a caravan and pulled out straight into the side of the Golf, the golf lost his steering in the impact and came accross the road and caught my drivers door and rear quarter. I was spun and parked backwards into the verge.

No one involved was injured thankfully.

So there is now one less mint origonal FD on the roads of Dorset.

That\'s some real bad luck mate!

Glad no-one was injured though! I take it that it\'s all gunna be sorted out through insurance companies now?

That sounds terrible - was the vectra guy apologetic etc.?

Your rex looked v. nice and clean

The Vectra guy didn\'t have much to say... I only spoke to him to ask if he was alright and then walked away before I gave him a mouthfull!

The rex was pretty much mint. 99% standard (which makes it fairly rare these days!)

Oh well. I had 4 years of enjoyable ownership.

No way - that was such a great FD :(

Were you on agreed value?  Did anyone have the presence of mind ot remove the Vectra drivers testes before he left the scene?

Hope Mr. Vectra gets clobbered by the old bill, and I hope you can get your hands on another - equally minty FD

Well I did have agreed value on the car so fingers crossed there will be no quibbles and I\'ll just get a payout.

The accident could of been so much worse if I was a few metres further back it would of been head on.

mate
I feel for you
before you lose it, just look into getting it back from the insurers (usually with a decent ££) and getting it fixed, esp if it\'s agreed value, you might be surprised!
all the best, at least you are ok !

Gutted - even if you were considering selling it - I think you\'d have rather seen it go to a new owner than like this.

Glad you and your friend are not injured.
