My first engine rebuild was a failure, coolant was being pressurised for some reason, so I attempted it again.

Took me a while to get in the mood as the engine\'s been out of the car for a little while now. It started off so bad, snapped a nut and took a huge chunk out of my finger!

Finally though.....

All seems well too. Hooked up the coolant pressure tester and it\'s been holding the same pressure now for about an hour. Had a freaky at first, but it turned out one of the stock old hose clips was not sealing a pipe properly.

Can\'t wait to get it back into the motor now!! :D

Looks good mate! That room is now being used for something much better than a games room lol

LOL i built my 2nd engine on exactly same work bench,, noticed that once it was built that poor bench was flexing on the top,,thought it was gonna break.

Jim_rx7

Yeah... the bench isn\'t the best. It doesn\'t like the weight, but it\'s holding! lol.

I\'ll be taking it off the bench to do the rest. It would collapse with anymore weight!

Hi,

Is that blue hylomar on the legs of the housings.

I have looked at the FSM and have got the DVD\'s it says to use RTV sealant in these area\'s.

Is it ok to use as a substitute ?

Yeah, it\'s hylomar.

I\'ve got the DIY-RE box set and they say to use hylomar in the DVD.

Basically all it\'s for is to stop the oil seeping past the legs.
