The map sensor vac pipe plugs onto a nipple on the firewall side of the tb/uim iirc mate.

unsure if its sorted as i have took intercooler and rad off to give them and there mounts a clean!

yeah i have just been out and seen the pipe down the back of the engine! no form of clips have been used tho so will probs put some on!

yeah i know i do Neil had nothing but poo with this car lol!

ENVYD

i still dont think this will stop the heat light and water reading tho!

trotter

The heat light was only a warning that the cat was too hot i thought? If you don\'t have a cat then I wouldnt worry about it - in the hot weather recently mine has been on quite a bit

If you have a PFC then it is used as a knock warning, but it flashes for that.

nah i dont have a cat mate! unsure what was done when lindop fitted the ecu! so will ask them tomoro!

neil_jdmr

The pfc has two warning fuctions set to on from standard,

1) is the knock (as mentioned) heat light flashes in three quick intervals
2) is max injector duty (over 98%) and flashing in single quick flashes

Both functions can be turned off but both are only warnings and do not affect the map on the car.

Worth checking the commander plug mate as this can start pulling out and iirc the first sign is the water reading shows --. Deffo sounds ecu related to me though if it all fixes itself when the car warms up, as certain criteria gets met once warm so that the map runs at the "normal operating temp" settings as opposed to warm up parameters(higher idle/running rich etc).

ah okay mate, well its defo not any of them warning functions!

i have not had time today to ring lindop today so will try and ring them tomoro! i hope when i put it all back together it works lol!

Looks like you in for some luck mate,,,common problem that once the map sensor pipe comes off the car runs like ....,,,i bet it starts right up once its all back together and map sensor pipe is re-attached.

gsb876

very lucky if its just the map sensor, but with the map sensor unplugged car will idle very badly and very lumpy.

Once you reattach it should sound normal, if not theres another issue sadly
