well we and a few mates where planning on going out today to take some photos of are cars!

about 10.30 i set off to go to Halfords to top up on my cleaning products and on the way back i pulled into a lay-by to make sure my car was running okay, so when i was stopped i put it in LO boost (0.7) i set off doing a lil burn out and Bang then engine is now running like a bag of ....e!

i have had the intercooler pipes off and back on and had a look around the engine bay for some sort of pipe that may have came off but nothing! it is running like it has a massive bride port on idle and stays the same through out the revs so i think i need another rebuild!

also another thing the past couple of days of trying to start it, it was taking 3 attempts of turning the key and when it did start to tick over it was running like a bag of dog poo, popping and banning and lumpy idle and the heat light was on along with the water reading not showing on the commander then after about 5-10 mins of driving they would go off at the same time! and the car would drive fine!

the car still has warranty at Silverstone motor sport (Lindop) but i am thinking of doing it myself!

another sad day!

if it was already struggling to start it should have been obvious it was going to go. why would you rebiuld it yourself if its under warrenty mate?
fduk.

dthebuk

sounds like it went due to ancillaries rather than a duff engine

yeah i know but i thought it was to do with a low bat? as once it was it was running it was fine, and started fine when warm!

and because i can not be arssed with all the hassel of going to wales and paying for train and am sure some how i will have to pay for something else that has gone wrong on the engine as that always seems to happen too!

what you mean mate? non of the work has been done by me like! and everything in the engine bay is new! and i mean everything!

dthebuk

No matter how good your engine, if your cooling or fueling system fail, its a gonner

You say you had problems with the signals showing on watertemp, this was the suspected cause of my car chipping a tip.

nah i dont have any issue with the cooling or fuel ( as i know of ), the cooling system was working spot on, intercooler and water, apart from that light and no reading on the commander! so unsure why they came up (only on start up)!

anyways the car is as of now gettin stripped of engine and body work as it was going to get a make over anyways!

atleast i can paint my engine bay the same colour as the car now :D

did you fine out why that was mate?

Timmy

because it was reading hot when cold or coled when hot or something and decided to run lean.

ENVYD

mate your a star! i have just been out to the car and there is a lil bit a pipe still on it but then it gos to nothing! just need to find where it gos to?

neil_jdmr

Not again mate, really feel for ya, Hope its not another rebuild and something much less annoying instead.

If it is tho at least your covered by the warranty mate as sod\'s law would be kaboom just out of warranty and a full seal kit isnt cheap anyway.
