im looking into getting my first rx in the next month but i only have about 6k to spend on an fd.
looking at some of the cars for sale on here, i know its at the bottom end of the market. i would like a few mods done but have to be done to a high standard.
Am i looking for too much for that price?

Rzla

I don\'t think so.
The current climate is quite dire at the moment.
What sort of time frame are you looking to buy in?
Do some research on the car and what TLC the car needs just before you buy.

FreddyM

im already looking atthe cars for sale on here as im hoping to buy in early september.
i have been on this forum a good bit looking around and reading the up about the general maintainence of the car.

Rzla

That is certainly a good start :D
Well keep looking and wait for the right car because it will be worth it in the end :)

FreddyM

i have early everything else sorted except the car at this stage.
i cant wait to get one now. waiting way to long for this oppertunity.

Whats your criteria for the car you are after? Thatll give us a better idea as to whether your 6k is gonna buy you a hound or not.
6k is generally going to buy you something rebuilt but fairly standard. If you look in the FS section, there are cars that have more bits bolted on and even a cheap single. It depends on wether you intend to drive the cars or spend more time pulling them apart!

FreddyM

i would by buying it hoping to drive it fairly quickly. small changes i might take on but would prefer something i can drive straight away.
Im looking to buy the best i can. any mods done to a high standard are welcome but not necessary.

thanks for the ideas. im def going to have a good look at the two 7\'s. not a big fan of the 8\'s but there not a bad car.

I didnt know Jurgen at JM Imports could rebuild a rotary engine. Thought he didnt know one end of the engine from the other!
Cant understand why that blue single hasnt sold unless ofc its a cheap ebay turbo?

Rzla

If you do know anyone that knows about RX7s take them with you if you can. Some cars can look good but have underlying problems.
Get a 7 not an 8 7s are quicker! :D

FreddyM

once im ready to go looking at them i will try find someone who knows about them to come along and give a second opinion.
