An FD is listed in the owner\'s manual as having a GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of 1 473 kg or 668 lbs  (split 709kg front and 764kg rear). Although I think the version I have is a Yank manual, so they may have been slightly different to UK/Jap models

I have the japanese owners manual of my R2 Bathurst and it states

All type R models 1260kg
with touring models at 1310kg

Pretty sure i remember reading the only other different japanese model was the 99spec cars at 1280kg (due to bigger wheels/front discs etc).

I expect uk models to be similar to the japanese touring spec because of cruise/srs etc

US models will be heavier again, just because they always are!

ive always seen the FD quoted as 1260kg and slightly heavier for autos and some other models

What is the lightest anyone has got an Rx to?

Ours at the moment is 872Kgs...but this a dry weight, but with a cage :)

Your conversion is just a little out 668 lbs is only around 300kgs.

Nik da Greek

I didnt convert it...just copied the numbers out of the manual. But as far as I\'m aware, there are 2.2 pounds to the kilo...which is 1469.6 kilos. Think you\'ve done the maths back to front there, geezer? :3Confused

Timmy

lets no make this a maths debait? lol
but in lbs it\'s about 3000.

Nik da Greek

Bloody hell, you\'re right :D. Y\'know even when I was typing my response I knew there was something wrong there :HammerIt\'s me that\'s back to front. It is, however, also wrong in the owner\'s manual however, cos I just double checked it and those are the figures quoted. I shall fire off a strongly-worded letter of complaint to Mazda immediately :rollin

.....can I at least regain some composure by pointing out that it should really be "debate" :p? lol :Giggle

It is the carbon elbow...that is what saves so much weight!

Pretty much every part is carbon...when we get the wide body car sorted, then it will be ousing in every possible part.

chrisJDM

apart from the roof :p
