New member/car buying advice

Hi everyone! I\'m new here so appologies for crashing in with a question doubtlessly asked before, but here goes:

A 1st gen mk2(?) 1983 Rx7 has appeared on ebay and is local to me. It is v.low mileage (<40k) and looks good in the pictures. Whats it worth and what do need to know?

erm er anyone wana shed any light on gen 1 prices i know nothing but sounds promising from a milage point of view although that\'s not to say there might not be anything wrong with the engine......(sceptical mode off )
I see they\'re starting bidding at £1500 which seems a bit high for an opening offer but guess i\'m more of an ebay whore than them
Any comments on wot a good price wood be?
