Looking for a tester to test the block once it\'s back together. To make sure there isn\'t a water seal issue or to see if it needs torqued up a little more.

Was supposed to be getting one from Leon, but think he may forgot before he went off on holiday. DOH!

cheers

There about £40 from pineapple racing. Have you thought about getting one shipped over?

Jim_rx7

Yeah, I saw that. Only thing is I jsut bought a load of stuff from there and I\'m waiting on it arriving.

Anywhere in the UK sell them?

Magicmat

I have no idea fella, Maybe try rotary art or pip at WGT?

I\'d also be interested in finding out if there is a uk seller

Make one :)
I\'ve got a syke pickavant vacuum/pressure tester that I use along with a home made plate that fits instead of the water pump, or a modified pressue cap if the pump is in place.
The setup is worth its weight in gold. I\'ll post some pics later on when I get home. It\'s really simple to knock up. I think I paid £50 for the SP pressure tester, which has many uses apart from cooling system testing.

Magicmat

wouldnt mind some pictures of that fella ! :)

I would lend you mine but some one else beat you to it i\'m afraid.

This is where i got mine from http://www.atkinsrotary.com/store/product.php?productid=16858&cat=568&page=1 They are really not complicated, its basically a plate with a gauge on one side and a Tyre valve on the other, you cap off the water pipe that goes to the Matrix and blow the system up to a few PSI (obviously don\'t over do it) then leave it for few minutes, you will know quite quick if it leaks as it won\'t hold pressure at all.

Magicmat

ahhh sounds good fella.

wouldnt mind knocking one up myself. Anyone got a link to a dial that will do the job?

leon

Yes jim sorry i got cought up with getting to germany! :( If you aint sorted ill box it up and lob it in the post when i go home for lunch today :3Confused
I woof in your general direction.

Some thing like this would do http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/40mm-Pressure-Gauge-Base-Entry-0-30-PSI-AIR-AND-OIL_W0QQitemZ310155014668QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item4836adf20c&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A2134|293%3A1|294%3A50

I\'m surprised some one with a bit of an engineering background hasn\'t started knocking these kits out over here yet.

Magicmat

that guage is cheap as bloody chips ! under £6 delivered

So really all you\'d have to do is:

-Make up a plate
-drill a hole and bolt the pressure guage in
-drill a small hole and squeeze a tyre valve in ! ??

Sounds too easy ??? but i like it

Grizzly

The Plates got to be 100% flat, you have to rig up a Cap for the Matrix pipe on the rear plate and get some shorter bolts (obviously there usually studs that hold the pump on) its that simple.

Thats why i say i\'m surprised some one has not been knocking these up and selling them.

O yeh, when you blow it up use a foot pump or something like that, you don\'t want to get carried away and damage something.

Magicmat

sounds good fella,

I\'d probably just get some flat steel and cut it out of that. and make a gasket or something.

I\'ll be book marking this page for later :)

just a alloy plate, tap NPT or BSP thread to match the gauge , tyre valve and gasket.
Seal all water inlet, breather, draining port etccc and foot pump or air compressor( take it easy) to pressureyoureye the water jacket and leave it for say "20 mins-1hrs"
go and make a cup of tea.
if the needle\'s stay the same, it\'s okay.

Have fun dude.
