hands in teh air, yes i was playing machanic, and now i\'ve got a non running FD3.   Please can anyone help?

I think it keeps flooding itself. After removing spark plugs to dry out I got her to start the other morning then she cut out once warmed up. And since then wont start up again.

Basicly, whilst tinkering the other day I had off the throttle sensor which is attached to the throttle body. Which i probably the casue of all the issues.

I checked the idle cam setting and amended to what i think should be right acording to the service manual.

I\'ve also tried moving the throttle sensor into different positions, but as the engine could be already flooded i cant get her to start again to prove it\'s ok. PAIN IN THE ASS! The service manual states that there is a specific voltage range that the thrittle sensor should be showing, but i cant measure the voltage easily becasue the ECU terminal is a nightmare and the throttle sensor cable / connector are sealed up.

HELP!

What can i do?

Should I admit defeat and take the car to somone who know\'s what there doing :-(

Sound like  its still flooded!

Will need the TPS Sensor plugged in to start, iirc.

Remove and clean all plugs, turn over @ WOT, with at least one out per rotor,

Re install and start her up off jump leads as the battery might be low on voltage.

Then you can check the TPS voltage!!

Are you running at Power FC and Commander?

arrouk

you will need to reset the tps befor all will be well, I took a small nick out of the insulation with a stanley knife at stagered points then rerapped using electrical tape.

I had the whole inlet manifold and throttle body off to reseal today and in teh process found that the throttle sensor was marked by previous owner (maybe when it was rebuilt). So hopefully it\'s in the right place now.

I\'ll take a knife to the wires to get a proper reading just to make 100% sure.

It fired up and ran for about 10 seconds then cut out, i have a feeling I still have an air leake somewhere :-/

Guna try have a look again when it\'s not so rainy.

btw, it\'s not a PFC, its stock ECU.

Got the throttle position sensor alligned correctly (correct voltages showing)
Also fairly sure there isn\'t an air leek any more (any sugestions how to make 100% sure?)

Still not starting... grrrr

Any sugestions?

So it starts then just cuts out??  Sounds like a MAP sensor issue? Check the vacuum hose to it?

Then reset the ECU, to do this disconnect the battery and then put you\'re foot on the footbrake, reconnect the battery and this will clear any errors.

The map sensor is connected up all fine. I\'ll give the ECU a reset when im working on it next. I\'ll also get a multi meter hooked up to the MAP sensor just in case it\'s being a .....

Finaly sorted, prety sure the tps was the fault but in the process of trying to fix i must have use up the last of the fule in the tank. Topped up today and after turning over a few times finaly started, idled a little rough, warmed up and eventualy ran smooooth and not rich YAY!

MOT here i come! :burnout
