Thinking of buying a 2nd gen rx7.

Hey everyone im new to this forum, i joined because im keen on rx7\'s and intend to by one come april of next year.

Ill be 22 and Im in the army. Ill have 4 years no claims by the it comes to buying one. I aim to spend between £5-7k on a second gen rx7 and would really appreciate some advice and info on insurance and running costs to see if i can afford to keep one by the time i come back from afghan.

Im a mechanic but not for vehicles, so im not very competent with cars,so im not going to be on the ball when it comes to spotting faults with a car im going to want to buy.

As much advice as possible would be hugely appreciated!

a 2nd gen for that price - crickey - that will prob get you a 400bhp monster !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

failing that - buy one for £1k - and get a 400bhp monster built to your own spec

Welcome & good luck with finding an FC you won\'t be disappointed. Yer with that kind of money your be getting one sweet, monster FC ....... do it! Where you based in the Army, I work at HMS Dryad / Southwick Park??

Really? I thought they would be a bit more expensive? How Much would a 3rd gen set someone back?

Im based in chippenham, near bristol but live in kent. Right next to castle combe race circuit :-)
