You want at least 50 amps PH, I have run mine with a 60 and that does the job well. Dont forget that its also about what services your car is running, ie big amps, aircon, heater full blast etc etc but at the same time you do want it to whizz your motor over fairly rapidly to stop it from flooding.
A decent battery is not cheap.the last one I got from Halfords was nearly £80!!

Costco do some Bosch batteries - or certainly used to, and one of those fits nicely in the FC battery box.  They were giving 4 years warranty on them, and cost was about £45-50, so with membership of £20 something that\'s still not a bad deal.

i have been told where to source a "decent price" bosch battery - so will contact them in the morning

so looking for a 50-60 MAH cranking power then - cool - thats easy enough

didnt think about it fitting in the try though !! LOL

Prof - any idea what yours is - the bosch ones seem to come in about 5 variants - S3-S7 - so i assume its one of those ?

fingers crossed it wont be more than £50 - but time will tell

mine just seemed to have died over the last 3 months - i had mobilemick around here yesterday ( Sat ) and his all singing all dancing battery tester said its dead !! LOL

The battery tray in the engine bay is so big you will fit a 50-60 Ah battery in there easily!

grinder

woohoooo will give them a ring in a few mins ( and let you know the price to see if its cheap or not ! )

so the car will make it to RS now !! LOL

Is a Bosch S4 battery - 540 CCA / 60Ah - so it should be up to the job

£66.78 inc vat - so its not TOOOOOOOO bad i suppose - just a shame it broke my magic £50 mark eh !! LOL

spoke to the guy and he said it should be fine leaving the car for weeks on end and it should hold charge - and he said if it doesnt its got a 4 yr warranty - so nothing to loose ;)
