Hi guys, I have a little problem with the central locking on my FD3 \'92\' I\'m not sure if its the alarm or part of the central locking here what happens.

When I arm the alarm the it beeps as normal but does not lock the doors then I have to use the key. If I disarm it then it unlocks the doors as normal????

The other thing I noticed that when I lock with the key on the drivers side both doors lock but when I go to that the key out, The passenger side unlocks? It take about 6 to 7 time to get it to lock from the drivers side.

It only started doing this about 4 weeks ago I am not a fan of clifford car alarms! So could it be the alarm or the central locking relay / timer????

Cheers guys hope somebody can help with this one.

Well I finally had a look today after the car would not lock on the key and after taking the door card off it turns out that who every fitted the alarm also added a aftermarket actuator to the locking on the drivers door bypassing the actual lock on the inside of the door!!!! so I reconnected it to the lock and now the key works great but the down side is no lock on the fob so all\'s i have to do now is wire the alarm central locking to the relay this should be fun!!!!

Yep, there\'s no driver\'s side by default :) I had to get one wired in. Be sure it\'s secure as I hadn\'t noticed and it wasn\'t locking the doors! Amazing what uses you can find for bits from computer cases.

TBH i think the actuator his gone pop as it only unlocks from the fob but I could not lock it with the key. The workmanship is great on it (NOT) held in with cable ties and installation tape! and also found out why my drivers door speaker was not working it was no connected! thats the thing I hate most is bad workmanship. The thing that you find out about when you look into them.

sounds like a Gap Security Special installation! Cable ties are their higher quality equipment :Giggle

i have the same system on mine and i watched over the custom installation of the actuator etc. there isnt one as stock so it is required. im sure you can get a cheap replacement for it. mine cost me £1165 with all the extras and he broke my cubby box lid (late spec one!!) and cracked my side skirt...
