My PFC hand controller is set to show the Knock on my engine, but it shows blank. So either something is hooked up wrong or the sensor is broke.

Does this make the ECU go into limp mode when the Datalogit is set to use Knock sensor reading? or will it make the car run bad?

Prof

Not sure about PFC, but on the stock ECU it just retards ignition when the signal hits a certain level from the Knock sensor (kind of glorified microphone). If the sensor isn\'t connected the ignition timing is fixed.

My PFC did this too, I ran a direct line from the ecu directly to the knock sensor (which works as it was tested on another FD) and still nothing! So I tried another Apexi ECU and it worked.

I believe its a resistor thats gone on the ECU board, I\'d like to get it fixed but have not found anyone, I had a look inside but there was nothing obviously burnt out or broken. If you find any way or fixing please let me know as I want mine working again. :(

It won\'t affect the running of the car as it\'s just a visual guide on the Apexi. The stock ECU needs it though.
Cheers
