My current insurer is asking for a tracker to be fitted to the rex. So when it arrives I will be getting one sorted.

Question is which one?

Also I have seen a few systems second hand floating around and may buy one of these. I assume I then have to get it fitted by one of their installers, anyone know how much this costs just for installation?

Also, my insurer says if I have a UK rex it doesn\'t need a tracker, load of bollux excuse as usual, What years were the FD on sale in the UK? I know there were only 124 official UK cars sold but as we all know UK and Jap cars are 99% the sameso how can they tell except by using the chassis number and checking with Mazda which they wouldn\'t do.

Ta for any advice

UK cars are quite easy to tell thou c/o sun roof & rear fog lights either side of no plate & although any insurance folsk might not know that they might & well beaar in mind you wont be covered or insured in theory would you wana risk it for the sake of a few hundred quid on a very good & useful bit of kit?

on subject of which one depends what you want/need there are now some very nice ones which enable you to see what speeds your car did where when as i recall so very good if yer leaving it with a garage you dont trust but i hope yer not using Hurley http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008\' target=\'_blank\'>http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/29/29_1_9.gif\' border=0> lol

Cheers Si

I would really like a tracker for the security of having a better chance to get it back if (god forbid) it was stolen.

whats the views on buying a second hand system?

Whats the makes to look for, any preferances out there?

Cheers for the help as always :D

I think usually the min one that they ask for is the tracker monitor (the middle unit). I had one with my fto and it is a good thing to have just for peace of mind.

Some insurance companies are changing their policies on them because they can be removed by the person nicking the car. If they say that it has to have a tracker then the car is not covered for theft until the unit is installed.

Strange to get a phone call when sat in car with engine off saying it may have been put on a wagan !
