Hey is a engine with a failed water seal worth anything?

Cheers Neil

BlitzBoy

of course dude, probably its worth more then an engine with a broken apex seal.

As with a water seal there would be no damage to rotors,Housings, apex seals, side plates.

Good used plates on there own are worth at least £100 each (x3)

Your engine is easily worth £500 in bits

Yes exactly, until you crack it open you wont know.  My first engine went to Water Seal failiure.  That overheated and WGT had to replace a lot.

So what should i do, drop the engine and tear it apart to have a look at the damage? or just sell it as is?

Sometimes water seal failure is caused by the wall on the side plate eroding in which case at least one side plate could be junk.
Until you open it you cannot tell.
