Diff help please

Hi just fitting a used diff in to my FD but noticed when I turn one axle the other side turns the same way they spin different ways on my old diff. Which is right?

Open diffs turn opposite ways, as do knackered LSDs, limited slip diffs that work properly turn the same way.
 
So basically, whats happening is good.

Is it a standard diff....or an aftermarket one?

its a standard diff but looks like the back has been taken off in the past. On the old diff when i turn the prop i can hold one of the axles and the other spins the new diff does not do this one axle can not be held they both spin.
